Started listening to Jack in the late 1950’s. Neil, Jim, and Matt do a great job, but there was only one Jack. As a kid I would sit staring at the radio hanging on his every word. While I was a student at State I had the privilege of sitting next to Jack in Len Lews one night after class and before a home basketball game with the Webels. He stopped in to get a cheeseburger and coke on the way to call the game. We had a great visit. He did not like O.M. To say the least. That night was almost 50 years ago but I still remember it like it was yesterday. What a thrill it was for me. Jack was like a rock star.

this might be a good time and place to share memories of Jack once again. Not only those famous and funny calls but also memories from those that were lucky enough to actually meet him.

I was fortunate to have worked with Jack as a spotter for several years. He was a great guy, very likable, and there are many good stories about him.

My father in law was an MSU fan for the ages. We probably have close to 500 cassettes of Jack's broadcasts going back to the early 70's. My wife claims she's going to go through them and pick out some highlights...we'll see. I have my doubts.

I am lucky to say I got to meet Jack once. It was the 2011 Egg Bowl, which was the first Egg Bowl where he wasn't in the radio booth in almost 60 years. It was a brief interaction, but just getting to shake his hand and say hello was awesome. He was absolutely a hero of mine and a huge reason I fell in love with MSU to begin with.
