I must give props to Sid last night for his level of effort

He actually played very good defense last night. His 4th foul was a bit lazy, but pretty sure he was gassed at that point.

Offensively he playd with more effort to get position and such, but he showed why he's not ready for the next level either. Playing against guys as athletic as him, as strong, but quicker gave him fits.

gets a big pay day. If he can't do that then we don't want him another year, he is too divisive. <div>

Wouldn't surprise me. You see that a lot from athletes that expect to be going pro. They have no need for class once they think they're in their final semester.

Back on Sidney, who does he compare to in the NBA today?

I don't think he's a true 5 in the NBA by any means, though his size dictates more of a 5. If he plays the 4 in the NBA, he'll need to lose A LOT of weight to be able to keep up with the athletes he'll be guarding. His game though is more of a 4 game to me though. He has some post up game and a decent perimeter game too, especially for a big. So, offensively, he's a 4, but I don't think he could handle guarding the 4.

In an odd way, he's the reverse Varnado in my opinion. He's a 4 in a 5's body, where Varnado was a 5 in a 4's body. Of course the attitude is polar opposite too. Varnado worked hard and was dedicated. Sidney...not so much.

carrying costs are too high. I think he has worn Stansbury out and if Rick can somehow keep his job then I think he will be eliminating all distractions.

I know we say it after every good play he makes, but that damn Sidney could be so good. He wanted to win that game last night, and it showed. Just like that Ole Miss game in Starkville. He could have had a bigger impact last night if he could have kept his big *** out of foul trouble. Conditioning allows you to move your feet, which allows you to keep from fouling, which allows you to get more minutes, which allows you to help your team. And guess what....it's the coaches job to make sure these guys are conditioned. Not John Lucas' job, Rick Stansburys. Frustrating

Beating a dead horse though.

Another thing wrong with college sports. If they quit going to class they should be dismissed from team, going pro or not, or how good of a player they are. That should be a school rule.
