Liverpool. Leicester. Wolverhampton & Sheffield United are fun to watch, but won’t be winning many titles.

ive been watching a prime series on Man City. they certainly have the firepower and arent scared to go after elite players and they have a built in rivalry with the across town team.

I'm a Chelsea man. Plenty of money, always in contention for silverware, the best American player in the game is on the team, plus the owner is a Russian oligarch with ties to organized crime. Whats not to like?

Anybody who’s good enough to regularly win championships isn’t going to be at all blue collar. The only options that fit that bill are Leicester, who won it all out of nowhere a couple years ago, or maybe Wolverhampton, who is challenging for a spot in Europe. Maybe Sheffield United, too.

But any of those three teams could just as easily finish mid-table as in the top 4.

There has been a pretty sizable gap between Liverpool/Manchester City and everybody else the last two years at least in the league table. Nobody has come close to winning the league other than those two since 2017. So if you want somebody who you feel like can win the league next year, those two are by far your safest bets. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham are teams that have the talent to contend but have not been consistent enough. As HD6 mentioned, Chelsea has the best American player on the planet so if you want to root for somebody with USA ties, that may be the choice. Leicester has been a great story, they just qualified for the Premier League again in 2014 after being in lower divisions for over a decade and then they shocked everybody and won the league title in their second year back, and they've been good this year too.

I'm an Arsenal fan, they have definitely been trending downward for several years but this is the path I chose so I'll stick with it and hope things turn around eventually.

I’ve been following Newcastle United for nearly a decade. Had to pick a team and went with them because I loved Newcastle beer.

There’s also the non-bandwagon effect for picking a constant underachieving squad that has the potential to be a top tier squad. And—- they have a possibility of being bought by Middle Eastern Prince....(until that deal fails).

NUFC fans are blue collar and definitely passionate about their team/city. Their current owner (Mike Ashley) is their worst enemy. Join the Toon Army and become a Magpie fan. Howay the lads!

Saint-Maximin is my favorite non-Chelsea player in the league.

He's a fun one to watch, and I've always like Newcastle. But if this new Saudi ownership goes through, they're dead to me.

You are best describing the Wolves, Sheffield or Newcastle. Particularly the Wolves. Fun to watch will be Man United and Chelsea who are stocking their teams with great new YOUNG talent. They look good for the long haul.

They don’t fit your criteria since they’re based in London but I’ve followed Arsenal for nearly twenty-six years.

It should have been Chelsea since the Southern Miss Summer British Studies program was based about a block away from Stamford Bridge but the first friendlies I saw were at Highbury a few months after the Gunners won the Cup Winners’ Cup.

I loved the atmosphere at Highbury. And seeing Arsenal, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli was awesome.

Man City built their position in the league with virtually unlimited Arab oil money and by blatantly ignoring every financial fair play rule in the book, which is why they're facing a 2-year Champions League ban (probably to be reduced to 1 year when the appeal is ruled on later this month). Don't pull for them. Newcastle will try to do the same if their sale goes through, except their money is even dirtier than Man City's since it's tied to the Kashoggi murder (allegedly).

Liverpool or Wolverhampton.

I was in your shoes a couple of years ago and picked Liverpool because their offense has been kind of electric the past couple of years.

Been a Liverpool fan for a while now and it’s finally paying off! They were close to greatness back when Suarez was there, but now they’re crushing it.

I've been one since 1992. I became one because of Robbie Fowler. I had no idea of their history, I just liked seeing that little guy score goals on the first weekly highlight show I ever got to see. Istanbul and last year were great, but winning the league for the first time since I've been following was the ultimate. To the OP, Liverpool are THE blue collar side, but are still a big club. We live within our means. We don't have have oligarchs throwing unlimited money at us. We have to pay our way. We got there by working hard and developing good players into world class players. The foundation of it on the pitch is work rate. Our players work their tails off. As we have risen the more money we have, but we still can't just go buy a title. The Timo Warner saga proved that. Also, Liverpool is a blue collar city, it ain't London or Manchester. Its a gritty working class town.

Given your criteria I take it you don't want to support a London side. I also take it you want to at least have a chance at a title. That leaves the two Manchester teams and Liverpool. Neither of the Manchesters fit your blue collar thing. City certainly doesn't anymore, but they used to. If you want a real blue collar side, and don't mind not having a real shot at the title, I'd second Wolves. Newcastle as they are now would be good as well, but IF the Arab buys them they are the next Chelski or City. Crystal Palace, one of my other favorites, would fit that blue collar stuff, but they aren't going to win a title, and they are in London. Leicester City fits it all for you, but I doubt Lightning ever strikes again .
