I normally wouldn't do this, but

sometimes I just get tickled. On the CL website, there is an Ole Miss story titled, "Anti-Nutt fervor hard to gauge", about the famed UM/Arkansas love-fest over Houston Nutt. There is the normal banter down at the bottom in the comments, but what caught my eye was this:

You're happy with Nutty. No one is more pleased than Arkansas fans. Unless it is Miss St fans, from what I read."

Is that what they have come to? Really? The irony is just TOO rich.

Seriously, who on this board snuck over there and posted that?

Most of the Brassell threads on the Spirit have been deleted but there was a classic post on there by a Bear fan that said that Ole Miss did not do package deals (ie Brassell and Market) because their program was at a point where it did not have to in order to get good players.

Frist of all I believe Danny Ford won the SEC West while coaching at Arkansas. How about Ole Miss just winning one SEC west title with any coach.

We will never be above package deals. There are only a handful of programs in the country that wouldn't do a package deal. If a player is good enough, sometimes you have to take his buddy to make it happen.

You just better make sure that if you take his buddy, you get the prime target (cough::Colby Arceneaux::cough).

I can even remember Tennessee pulling a package deal or two in the 90s back when they were in their best decade of the modern era. If they weren't above it at that time, then we sure aren't.
