I realize it is a journalist's job to dig up dirt...

His job is to write about entertainment, ie, Mississippi State sports. If he wanted to be a journalist, he should go down to Jackson and report on the backroom dealings of the Legislators and other political shenanigans.

Kyle Veazey is supposed to write about sports, how Mississippi State should go undefeated in every sport this year and win National Championships, and get more Mississippi State fans to read his newspaper.

I wish he would leave our Men's Golf and Volleyball recruiting details alone. Quit digging KV! Who cares if mens golf let recruits take mulligans, not repair their ball marks on the greens and stay out past midnight.

Who cares if Volleyball let their recruits get more than what they paid for at Barnhill's buffet, try on and stretch out all the clothes at Reed's and fart and burp in public? It's not news!

Stick to hard news like the conspiracy behind why Stansbury's kids haven't grown or gotten older in 4 years.

MS is the only state, in which I have lived, that doesn't protect it's home schools. The climate in the state of MS, which is very obvious from reading the out cry from this, is very poor. I can tell you short of being arrested. The Arkansas press would sweep this under the rug. Even if a player was arrested, there would be a feel good story later about how he got his life back together.

MS and MSU.....stories come out all in the name of journalism that do nothing to help the state institutions. It reminds me of the media handling of Bill Clinton's affairs and the handling of JFK's affairs. Tiger Woods media vs Arnold Palmers media. Some states take a wait and see approach on transgressions by players of the university. For MSU......it is lets nail their *** to the wall today.

It is all because of the rivalry too. If the CL ignores it.....OM bitches. They run with it....State bitches. Also, it would not surprise me at all if some one (not necessarily the writer) is taking kick backs to get this kind of stuff in the paper.

when is the last "dirt" type story initiated at the CL on UMiss? I'm not talking about following up on something the Memphis paper or some other paper wrote, but actually broken at the CL. It doesn't happen.

I don't follow the CL that much, but did they ever cover the fact that there are a pair of Nutts on the Ole Miss sideline? Seems that folks were raising a ruckus about Ole Miss having too many coaches and violating an NCAA rule. It would seem to me that this would be more 'newsworthy'.

Also, if KV is going to report on the Pony in West Point, he should really do an expose on titty bars in the SE and their impact on recruiting in the SEC.

Afterward, perhaps he can do a follow-up to this lawsuit:
