I really appreciate Warren Sapp's thinking, wish I had been a fan sooner

And I never appreciated that about him, nor paid much attention to him until the end of his career when he & Brett Favre started their little verbal back & fourths.

he is dead on right in that article about Haynesworth & Revis......shut your damn mouth & do your job & be a contributing part of the team b/c you are a part of the extremely small percentage of men that get to keep on playing a kids game, & get paid to do it.

Personally, I think their teammates should kidnap their asses, drag them out to the country, & haze their *** in to submission

but better. I still remember him going in as tight end and catching touchdown passes just for the hell of it. 17ing amazing.

I like Sapp, but I don't agree with him in regards to Revis. Since contracts are not guaranteed, I have no problem with a player holding out to get what he's worth. Teams don't honor contracts when the players are overpaid, so why should the player honor one when he's underpaid? When a player gets seriously hurt on the job, the first thing that usually happens is the team, using the threat of cutting him, makes him renegotiate for less pay. I used to get pissed at players holding out, but after the Saints did this to Deuce, I started understanding their side of it.

they can cut him. He needs to get as much guaranteed as he can, and he's the best corner in the game and getting paid nothing.

Some of their contracts are guaranteed. His signing bonus is guaranteed whether he gets hurt or cut. With big players like Revis, Sapp, and Haynesworth....thats big money. If Shanahan cuts Haynesworth, he gets the remainder of his signing bonus which was $40 million when he signed. NFL contracts should be looked at the signing bonus being the player's actual contract and the regular salary being his incentive or bonus should he play through the years of his contract.

so if you are putting in a pool and you sign a contract for 10k to build the pool. Then halfway through the contractor says man this isn't going like i want it to
I need 20k. and you say no we had a deal for 10. the contractor yeah i know, but this just isn't going to work out... you know last week i became the best contractor in the area. I want 20k or ain't doing ****... really you have no problem with a player holding out...

Now I know owners do **** wrong to.. i am not defending anyone. I am just saying the player signed the contract he should fulfill the contract.
I blame the player for signing anything over a 3 year contract.

and I think that he actually was maybe one for a year or so at Miami.

And I think he also played FB some in the NFL a la Refrigerator Perry.
