I have to admit that Nick Saban is easily the best coach in college football. Bama decided that they were going to be good again, and they ponied up to pay for it. I thought they were insane to pay a coach over $4 M a year who had **** the bed in the NFL, but it sure has paid off. To see what he has been able to accomplish in just three years is absolutely amazing.

but he's just as good at coaching them up (defense, especially) and kicking your *** with 'em. In just 2 short years, Bama has gone from losing to Croom, to a slot in the BCS title game.

He's a good coach and an even better recruiter. And by recruiter I mean one who skirts the rules with the backing of one of the richest programs in the nation and is able to entice large amounts of incredible talent.

Even if the $$$$$ is the same. Bama can always hire Croom to replace him.

who thinks that Saban would have been successful in the NFL if he had stayed longer than two seasons? He may not have been the next Bill Bellicheck, but I think he could get a team with a reasonable amount of talent into the playoffs.
