that a win would secure the primetime ESPN slot. I hope that is the case.

Call me wooly, but week off and another electric atmosphere versus possibly #1 or 2.. we could surely pull it off.

but that's why I noted it as the primetime slot on ESPN.

The house will be rockin' once again if we can get that slot. We need Tyson Lee to hold a prayer meeting at the drill field to gain divine favor.

We gave Florida and LSU good matches and Alabama will be #1 or #2 (depending on how the pollsters feel). We're competing with AU/UGA and FL/SC. Does the game selection process change for doubleheader weeks (like CBS picks, then ESPN, then CBS, then everyone else or is it CBS gets the first 2 picks)? Honestly, I'd rather see us as the night game on ESPN.

Surely the Auburn/UGA game gets one of the slots with the whole "longest rivalry" thing. And I hope they are unwilling to pass up on the #1 (Florida) team for the other slot.

Damn it. We better get the night slot. CBS is going to really piss me off.

Here's what we're up against. It looks like the 3 CBS possibilities are MSU vs Bama, Fla vs SC, and Tenn vs Ole Miss. If it's a double header, I can't see us falling to 3rd. AU vs UGA appears to have lost a lot of its luster this year.

On the national slate, the only obvious choice for gameday appears to be Iowa at OSU, but I believe gameday was at OSU for the USC matchup. Could we have possibly an outside shot at gameday?

I won't even be awake at 11am. I'll be in the stands at the game but I sure won't be coherent. Football isn't meant to be played at hours that end with AM.

We beat Bama with the 11 am game two years ago....and I'm about as supersticious as they come, so bring on the 11 am game. For whatever reason we seem to be able to play well in the early games as noted before.

The college crowd and the young alums can simply start partying Friday night and continue it through kickoff, while we old farts (who love getting up at 4-5:00 AM anyway), can wake up and simply drive to the game....unless today's youth are incapable of having a 72-hour Lost Weekend.

This is coming from Jimmy Sexton, agent of Saban. I heard him on a sports talk show, and he is 99% right most of the time. Knowing my luck, this will be the 1%, but I'm planning on breakfast at the tailgate.
