Gets fixed. Watching this replay it was atrocious. I know dak wasn't in but still. Should of played jrob a lot more. Hopefully we go out with a bang in our bowl game. I'd really like to see us put up 40+ points and defense show out. Looking back on the season there's a lot of what if's. Feel like if our offense was decent we win 2 more games this year. Possibly both being auburn and Alabama. It would be awesome to sweep that state. I think dan is too faithful to the upperclassmen. I say you gotta earn your job every year. If a freshman comes in and is better then he should start. That's the world we live in

The biggest problem we had on offense was our receivers weren't catching the damn ball. I don't know if they just don't have rapport with Williams or what, but it was the same **** as in the bama game, although we did make SOME catches.

Beating a dead horse but there were drives when we ran Perkins up the gut 2 or 3 times in a row and that simply kills it. Been doing it all year. I'll be glad to see the end of it.

so many of the critical drops happened on 3rd down, and the receiver had plenty of green in front of him. That occurred too frequently.
Another predictable outcome would be a RoJo drop early in the game either on his first or 2nd attempt.

Also, I'd like to see Brandon Holloway get lined up in the slot for some 3rd down plays, and find a way to take advantage of his 4.3 speed. It was good to see him get a catch in the
Egg bowl. I was concerned he might have been out for the rest of the year after that hit in the Alabama game.

Amen, Williams was on the money most of the time and when he wasn't he didn't

miss by much. I don't recall him ever coming close to throwing a pick either which Dak did flirt with. If all those drops had been hauled in we would be crowing even more about Williams.

I might be in the minority here but I'm not too worried about the offense next year.

It started to come together as the season went went on. Dak really improved. I think we are close to breaking the school's total yardage record. No, that's not a world-beating record but at the very least it would mean we out performed the 2010 offense which wasn't bad.

The times we struggled the most was when Dak couldn't play. Alabama, Arkansas, most of the EB. Next season we will commit to Dak as our full time starter and he will be more experienced.

This problem fixes itself next year.

I agree. Our offense was fine except in the red zone, and then our inability to make field goals made it look even worse. Having Dak back as a full time starter, flanked by Robinson / Shumpert is going to be huge, and throwing to more experienced receivers will be huge. We just need new kickers or our existing ones to see a shrink.

Well, Williams did throw a pick--but I agree that in general he threw it really well.

I wonder if some of the drops might come from him having a bit too much zip on the ball at times. It could also just be a chemistry/confidence thing that will resolve with him getting more reps.

I disagree - with just about everything. State couldn't run the ball unless Dak made something happen.
State over-relied on Dak and wore him out before the 4th.
State couldn't stay on the field.
State had no idea of what play they could count on to get a tough 3 yards.
State put up good numbers against inferior defenses.
State made no demonstrable in-game adjustments.

100% agree. Our receivers can only improve.

There's no way Holloway should have played more than he did. Way way too many drops, complaining about lack of playing time, gets another opportunity and drops a pass that is probably a critical TD against A & M. Now finally he was pressed into taking some returns because of Lewis not being 100% and did well enough there and made a catch against Mississippi that may lead to increased playing time if keeps getting better. But he was too shaky to earn more reps. That was a horrible no call on the hit he took and as small as he is he shows toughness out there.

I agree with State not being able to run the ball. I thought the Ole Miss defensive front pretty well beat our offensive front. Dak's great passing saved us.

I have to disagree that we only put up numbers against inferior opponents. We were 9th in the league for total offense against all opponents, 9th against conference only opponents, and 9th against ranked opponents. That is very consistent and not dependent on the opposing team. Whereas our rival went from 5th against all opponents to 8th against conference and ranked opponents. That's racking up numbers against inferior opponents. Scoring offense was the same way for us, 10th in the league across the board.

Pretty sure he almost threw an interception right before Dak went in. But he has a good arm and is accurate and will be great for us in the coming years.
