South Carolina coach, Darrin Horn, in his post game comments claimed his team played well. He marveled at Barry Stewart and mentioned specifically two shots in the first half that he could not believe. In addition to Stewart Horn said that they had no answer for the defensive tandem of Varnado and Augustus inside. He mentioned specifically Augustus' three point field goal at a critical point late in the game as an example of his team having given a great effort to force a three point shot late in the shot clock. On that play they sucessfullyprevented Bost, Johnson and Stewart from getting a shot, but Augustus nailed it instead.
If the Bulldogs can play that well or better in their remaining games, we will be hard out for every team we play. I hope that Bost and Varnado ironed out their differences, and it appeared they did before the game ended. Varnado was trying to exert a little senior leadership, and Bost did not receive it well.
