I guess he's got his confidence back seeing how they can't lose next weekend due to the bye. Just so you don't forget, you got beat 30-7 by Vanderbilt, slick. It wasn't a fluke either.

We've got all season to turn this **** around. We all know you suck hard already though, no doubt about it.

our offense is offensive. All 10 guys not named Ballard are terrible and theirs no exciting backups we are eager to see get on the field. Then when it's time to punt or kickoff it gets worse. I do think Depausquale has been above average though so yay!

I think we're better than them and that we'll win, but we're not that much better. You can't go 2-6 in conference and tell me you don't suck.

Nothing has changed for me. I still want a new AD and a new head coach. I think our team sucks. I think we have potential to win at most 5 games, which is pathetic. We'll probably end up at 3 or 4.

I still think we have a chance to be solid next year, but I want it to be with a new coach.

Nix will slant our front 4 one way and forget to leave anyone on contain for the backside. All you'll have to do is run the QB read over and over, and if you run it when Nix is slanting the front 4, Relf will have a simple read and either he or Ballard will go for 30+ yards.

Nix is nice that way. He thinks the purpose of slanting is just to guess which way the offense is going. He doesn't realize the purpose is to throw off the defense's blocking scheme by changing up who is responsible for which gaps in your front 7. Gap assignments are a foreign concept to him, so we will help out your OL. It's just a shame you have to wait until the final week of the season.

UK, La Tech, and either LSU or msu. I know ya'll don't think there is any way we beat LSU but look at our last 10 games against them. Only '05 and '07 are not a one score game. We took a horrible team last year into BR and held on until under a min to go when LSU punched it in. We play them very well no matter how good they are or how bad we are. All that said I onl;y expect to win 2 more but the Egg Bowl and LSU game are possible.

Your only 2 wins over them in the last 9 came in your 2back-to-back Cotton Bowls (50 years!)which just happend to be their 2 worst years during that time.

I think it's pretty clear, though I would say Auburn or MSU as the other possible ones outside of UK and LT. I like our chances against you better than AU, though AU has been suspect at times this year and could be beaten.

I also think Arkansas's strengths could play to giving us a chance against them, though taht's a long shot.

I'm expecting 4 wins, though 3 wouldn't surprise me, and I think 5 is a top out.

who you thought they were against.

A 'logical' Ole Miss fan (which I am beginning to doubt exist anymore) would have given LaTech, UK and possibly MSU (though not likely).

Anything more than that is insanity of your delusional nature. But, not only do you not think those are the ONLY possibles, you throw out LSU because you usually play them close??? You cannot have a rational argument and then throw out that you think there is a chance of you beating LSU.

I am not saying we will win I am saying anytime you play a team that close that many times eventually you can slip up and win. We just seem to play LSU really well year in and year out. It is in Oxford and that is all I am saying. I don't expect it but it won't shock me if it happens.

I don't expect for us to beat LSU but I can see how it is possible. Ya'll aren't playing very good football right now and neither are we so yes the MSU game is a toss up at this point. The LSU game while I don't think we will win given the history of the last 10 years of the series LSU should win as they have won 7 out of the last 10. The reason I think we have a chance to beat LSU is our history in those games. Outside of '08 and '09 we have had some of our worst teams since Eli left in '03 in that time we have played LSU very close and really should have won more than we have. Just because msu has only beaten LSU once in the last 20 years doesn't mean OM can't beat them. Again I am not saying we are going to beat them but if you look at the recent trend of the series there is a reason why this game has been on CBS game of the weekthe last 3 years. Rarley a blowout and always the possiblity of an upset. It makes for good TV.

This past weekend did nothing to change my opinion. I still think we are a 6-7 win team and Ole Miss is a 2-3 win team. Ole Miss may beat UK but I think it is a tossup and LA Tech will give them a good game. Other than that Ole Miss will likely be double digit underdogs in all of their games against the West.

would shock the **** out of me. We never beat Bama. I guess since we have beaten LSU 2 out of the last 3 years and Nutt has beaten them 3 out of the last 4 years add in the fact we were leading last year with less than a min to go with such a crappy team is the reason why it wouldn't shock me. Again let me stress this point. I DO NOT EXPECT FOR US TO BEAT LSU. I am simply saying given our history with them it is possible.

Although if msu is 5-6 going into the Egg Bowl I don't think ya'll will be a double digit favorite. The favorite yes but not double digit. I think we win 4 and if we get real lucky we win 5.

we have won the past two rather convincingly...

I, unlike you, can look at this year's LSU team and this year's Black Bear team... and see VERY FEW similarities found in previous years...

Again, you are giving some credence to the fact that you wouldn't be that surprised if you beat LSU. I am trying to tell you that you should be. If y'all beat LSU, there will be virtually no one that expects it. My point was completely missed by you. We have played Alabama close for the past decade (and won a decent amount) but that does nothing to say that we will play them close this year when they are #1 and we are not playing well. Well, you will be playing a top ranked LSU team with a far inferior team and you are saying you think its possible???? I would love to hear how you play the lottery

This video comes to mind:

But my point is that for all the hype about how great y'all play LSU, you almost never actually beat them unless you have a kick-*** team yourself, which you don't have this year. Add to that the fact that thislooks to beone of LSU's best teams in the last 10 years, and I'm saying no way in hell you beat them this year, I don't care where you're playing them.

As for the Egg Bowl being a tossup, that's ********. You definitely could win, but you can't even begin to compare your 2-3 record right now to ours. If the game were in Oxford, I'd agree that it's a tossup, but it's in Starkville. Right now, anyone would have to say we're the favorite. Would you bet on UM straight up in that game right now? Most Bear fans wouldn't.

I am going more of of the UGA game than anything. I was at the OM game and I watched ya'lls game last week. I saw pretty much the same game. Niether one of us could do anything offensively and UGA ran all over both of us. I am calling it a tossup because ya'll are playing some bad football right now and we haven't proved we can beat a decent team. Yes ya'll will be the favorite but I think the differance between the teams are alot closer than ya'll want it to be. As far as betting on the game I wouldn't take OM straight up against anyone the reast of the year and although I don't know what the Baylor Bears have to do with it the Rebel fans I know are getting a much better feeling about the Egg Bowl than we had after the first week.

2001 OM was 7-3 coming into the Egg Bowl msu was 2-8 msu won that game. 1997 OM goes to msu and wins a game against a favored msu team. 2009 an 8 win OM team a week removed from beating #7 ranked LSU and winner of 3 straight and 5 out it's last 6 games goes to msu and loses. Those games and the fact msu hasn't won 3 in a row against OM since winning 4 in a row from 1939-1942. The favored and obvious teams don't always win. Ask ND in 1977 when they went on to be National Champs and we sat home with a losing record. I never said I think we will beat ya'll I said it is a possiblility. Let's face it ya'll haven't had a good game since AU. The La Tech game was way closer than it should have been and scoring one offensive touchdown in 3 games is not good. I think the Egg Bowl if played this week would be a toss up with ya'll slightly favored. Could that change in the next 7 weeks of course. Ya'll may get on a roll and win 6 out of your next 7 which would make the Egg Bowl more a slam dunk or we may inprove and win 4 out of our next7 and ya'll go 2 out of ya'll's next 7. That is why the games are played.

I am the eternal optimist except for Bama. I am convinced they could be 1-11 and we would be 13-1 with our loss being to them. Look LSUwill probablyblow us out by 40 I don't know. That is just a game I feel good about every year. That is all I am saying.

The history of the Egg Bowl is that the home team almost always wins, and if they don't it's because the visitor just flat out had the better team. The one exception was 1997. You're the visitor. You don't have the clearly better team by any means. Not saying you can't win, but history shows your odds are pretty low.

I don't think saying we could beat LSU is an irrational argument.

Even in 2006 when they went to the Sugar Bowl and we were crap, they beat us in OT in Baton Rouge.

The history of our series is almost always close.

Since 1997 (our first year off probation), LSU is 8-6 against us. They did have a 6 game winning streak from 2002-2007, but of those 8 wins, 5 of them were by 7 points or less, 4 of them by 3 points or less. I don't think we will stay close with LSU, because they'll more than likely methodically beat us down, but we do almost always play them competitively.

ETA: Ironically, we seem to play them better in Baton Rouge than at home. 4 of our 6 wins in that period were in Baton Rouge, and all 4 of their wins over us during that period were by 7 points or less.

Home teams are 10-2 in the last 12 Egg Bowls, with each team splitting the last "steals" (us in 2003 and you in 2010) both teams significantly better than the other, as you stated.

The funny part is the 5 years prior to that (94-98), the home team was 0-5, and honestly the disparity between our teams during those years was typically pretty close on a year to year basis.

Since the move to campuses, the home team is 13-7, with the obvious trend to the home team in recent years.

you cite the 97-10 seasons... I just don't see that y'all have beaten them when they were actually good but one or two seasons.

97-99 Gerry Dinardo, need I say more?

00 - Saban, L
01 - Saban W, although I would not say that this LSU was great. They won the West with a 5-3 record and were the only west team to be ranked.
02-07 - All losses
08 - Miles, W. Far from a great LSU team. They finished 3 games back of Alabama in the West
09 - Miles. W. Wasn't this the game that Miles began his love of 17ing up clock management??? Again, far from a great LSU team, 3 games back of Bama in the West
10 - Miles, L.

So, it looks to me like y'all count this as a lot closer rivalry than it really is... You are 3-9 since Saban/Miles arrived. And in those 3 years, I would say that LSU has been far from anything like they are this year. This LSU team would skull17 any of those LSU teams... And, y'all do not have anything close to the teams you had when you beat them.

THUS, MY NOT UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR BELIEF IN YOU HAVING ANY SHOT AGAINST LSU

and that wasn't an upset? I remember everybody saying how OM didn't stand a chance in '97. In '09 OM was a favored ranked 8 win team that lost to a unranked 4 win msu team. That is 3 upsets. I don't know how you can count them as anything else. You talk about the home team winning most of the games how about the fact that msu hasn't won 3 in a row since winning 4 in a row in 1939-1942.

Here's what I said.
The history of the Egg Bowl is that the home team almost always wins, and if they don't it's because the visitor just flat out had the better team.
2001 and 2009were upsets, no doubt about it. But the HOME team won both games. That's my point. If an upset does occur, it's almost always the home team pulling off the upset. Not the visitor.

You are basing your entire argument on the fact that we looked like crap against UGA... and y'all looked about the same against UGA. This is what you are using to say "see, MSU is about as bad as we are"...

I look at it a different way. Yes, we looked like crap for basically the last 3 weeks. Do you think that trend will continue and is the way we will remain all season? I think we get back to form and change some things to make our offense "go" again. I don't think we stay in this funk all season. We may only win 6 this year but our offense will not remain in the state it currently is.

But, no matter, I actually thought y'all played as good as you could against UGA. I thought that was about the pinnacle of Bear football this year. Your QB is a wreck waiting to happen. He makes bad decisions and will cost you more than he helps you. Your Defense is awful (see Fresno and Vandy).

All of you bears are hoping for the best with your own team while hoping for the worst with us. Neither of those will happen. We will be playing for a bowl against y'all in the Egg Bowl while y'all are recovering from the October/Nov raping that your schedule will create for you.

That was some show ya'll put on against La Tech and UGA. I should have known that mullin would right the ship and pull ya'll out of the 3 week downward sprial your offense has been in. My bad.

And, if you need any proof for how this season will go for State, just look at the past two seasons. And, if you need any help with why Nutte (see what I did there?) will lose to Mullen, just see the past two Egg Bowls

I was typing fast and didn't look over before I posted. I really didn't mean anything by it just a typo. As to the issue of mullen beating Nutt because he has won the last2 Egg Bowls I guess we will see won't we.

As Bruiser pointed out, the home team is 10-2 in the last 12 games. And in the 2 losses, the visiting team just had a much better team. Even if the visiting team does have a much better team, the odds are only about 50-50. There have been a couple of huge home upsets in that same 12 year period.
