Madkin had a shaky game, but Dontae and Dicenzo took up the slack and made some first downs. The biggest plus was Scott Westerfield hitting those five field goals.

You would think that our fanbase would be more "battle-tested" and tougher than the average fanbase due to all of the close losses and "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" that they have seen over the years. After a game like this, Bama fans would say that their team "showed grit" and "didn't play our best but still found a way to win".Not the MSU fans. We want to be dropped out of the top 25 due to poor performance. I am embarrased by some of our "fans". Ridiculous.

Oh and while I'm on the soapbox. For all of you that were "tired of hearing about Cam Newton" when we were in the runningfor his signature, do you get it now? Do you understand why we busted our asses for his signature. Have you paid attention to the difference he's made to Auburn's offense? Can you imaginehim wearing the maroon and white right now? Okay, rant over. Show up next weekend for the Kentucky game and make a difference in the outcome. See you there.

Who needs him when you have Tyler "Rodney Hudson Greg Plump Matt Wyatt" Russell lurking in the shadows.

I was wondering why in the hell we were playing Chris Rainey so much and not playing Dicenzo and Dontae more.

Also, was I the only one who didn't wonder why we didn't just run our two minute drill all the time that year?

The '10 Dawgs, joining theranks in mid-season, I question the audacity as, ranked 24th; that's sayin' to me,'there's 23 reasons you're not ranked #1!' ...Depressing. So, more the reason I'd rather be unranked and spank a few unsuspecting top-heavies, I just like being the underdawg, that's all.

...seems to have morphed into whiners over the last two decades. Gripe when the team loses and get the "yeah-but-we-should-have-won-by-more" attitude when we win.

Apparently, we're so loaded with talent year in and year out coupled with our rich tradition of winning and championship seasons, this is plausible behavior for the modern-day MSU fan.

To quote a famous 80's icon: "A fool and his money are lucky enough to get together in the first place."

...After the game ended, I went to my car turned on the radio to Jackie's post game show.

& intsead of giving Jackie props for having MSU 8-0, it nothing but a bunch of ignorant rednecks bad-mouthing Jackie for not winning pretty.

Fast foward 11 years to sixpackspeak.com: It's Déjà vu all over again.

Last note, & speaking of calling in to radio shows: To ever State fan who has called into a radio show, think of this: Do you know how Haley Barbour sounds when he talks? Well, compared to your accent, you make Haley Barbour sound like Sir Laurence Olivier.

...that the chairman of the sixpack archives would get his history correct. Our victory over LSU made our record 7-0, not 8-0. Also, LSU was a terrible, terrible, terribleteam that year. It took a late touchdown on fourth and goal (that wasn't really a touchdown) to eek out a one point win against a team who came in at 2-4 and finished the year at 3-8. That game was a typical Sherrill game....questionable playcalling, poor clock management, and stupid mistakes. Everyone who bitched about it after the game certainly earned the right to doso.

...7-0, 8-0, whatever.

I can mentally imagine your Deliverance accent slowing, earnestly blessing out Mullen during a post-game call in show.

And after your Jethro Bodine stream of consciousness idiocy has been sufficiently offered, you end the call with: "Thaaankkks, cccooooaaach. Keep up the good woooorrrrkkk.
