when asked the difference in the 1st half- "They're throwing it"

When the other coach is wondering why you are throwing it as much as you are, that should tell you alot.

Mullen could also learn from Miles. For all the **** he gets for being an idiot, he is playing it smart this season. He doesnt have a reliable QB, so he is playing conservative, running the ball, throwing it here and there, and letting the defense do their thing.

We have now thrown more passes than our opponents in all 3 games. With our personnel, that's stupid to me.

Playing it close to the vest works great against MSU and Vandy but it will get his *** beat by the SEC big boys. Miles does deserve credit for tailoring things to what he has however.

why does every pass play that we call have to be a pass from the pocket. Why are we not rolling Relf out to give him the option to run or pass? Or why don't we call some passes that start as an option play and then Relf backs up and passes after the defense has bit on the run? Relf only scrambled from the pocket once or twice the whole last game on passing plays whereas Jordan rolled out or beat us on running from the pocket multiple times for first downs. Looks to me when I watch that we call the same type pass plays for Relf that the Colts call for Peyton Manning (who can't move a lick) and that's makes absolutely no sense to me.

couldn't pull it off with tim tebow back there behind our offensive line - the only chance you have (if we insist on giving ourselves such crappy field position) is to be competent throwing the football - your boy can't throw the football. I wish he could, because he can run it a whole lot better than Russell, and if he was competent he would give us the best chance to win.<div>
</div><div>I am for getting better protection packages in for Russell (backs in the backfield to pick up blitzes), and use Relf to change to the pace. by the way - Russell ran it better than I thought he could.</div>

Your argument is all well and good and serves the purpose you want it to, but that is NOT what Miles said.

The chick asked him about the fact that coming into the game, LSU led the league with 10 sacks but had not had an interception in their first 2 games. What are you doing different. Miles responded by saying "They are throwing THEM" meaning INTs, he didn't say anything about the fact that we shouldn't have been throwing the ball.
