Coach K is doing a good job of keeping the negative attention off of the team. When look at the players, you see 18 and 19 year olds learning how to play bball. There is really no one on this team with edge, maybe Roach and Steward.

I have been a Duke fan since 1962. I have seen more good years than bad. I am stilll a fan. Do I hope they get a lot better, yes. But I am still a fan. Wish I could say the same for the Panthers. Notice I did not mention the first part of Panthers. I try never to use that word.

JJ is a good player but nothing I have seen looks like a lottery pick. If he hadn't been hyped as one coming in would anyone peg him as a one and done let alone a lottery pick? He looks like a guy who will be a terrific player in a year or two. And that is nothing wrong with that other than expectations.

Nice article on ESPN.COM with the views of opposing coaches on our struggles and UK's....the lack of identity is specifically called out and no senior leadership...both identified on this board as issues

I take it back again! They looked pretty dang good today, I guess the sky isn’t really falling. They showed flashes on defense that give me a ton of hope. Hopefully, it will help them find their identity going forward!

Agreed. My only counterpoint is the draft looks extremely weak again this year and it might be the best shot he has to go lottery. On the other hand, he could come back, develop his game and give himself a shot next year. Don’t know his financial situation but my guess is he’s gone, esp after this foot thing.

Better ball movement, more patience on offense led to much better shot selection.

Was this progress, a less athletic opponent, or better chemistry/fit without Johnson? Sure hope it was progress.

This was always going to be a challenging year. Think we have it bad? Take a look over at Rupp Rafters, where arrogance has given way to hopelessness, and calls to, “fahr Cal!!,” are rampant. Which is just silly. Again, this year was never going to resemble any other year we’ve seen.

We, and everyone else, have to show a little patience, some guts and resolve, as fans. There are going to be good games and there are going to be games in which we look like the island of misfit toys. Either way, we need to support our team. It’s easy to be a fan when everything’s working the right way.

Duke is flawed. There is no denying this. But, so is everyone else. Ask Kentucky.
