I think Brauchle can run the ball

Due is strong and athletic. He beat the whole damn team in the protect the house drill (running every step at DWS). And we've got a backup kicker that's about as good as he is kicking the football.

I can see us lining up for a field goal and the holder statue-of-liberty's the ball to Brauchle who keeps running and goes around the end.

Wonder if Mullen is up for that kind of stuff in a game where we have to pull out all the stops and go for the jugular....like the UF game. There's nothing to lose. The fans would love it.

Auburn was up big late, and he called a fake FG where the holder flips it over his shoulder to the kicker. That was heartless.

Someone explain this drill please.
Every player on the roster had to jog up (and down?) every step in Davis Wade Stadium. Each player was also timed. Could sworn our kicker was the fastest guy through the whole thing.

Sean was a running back in HS. He was fast and strong and wouldn't think twice about running over a tackler.. His dad was a great running back at Notre Dame HS in Biloxi also.

about that game was Jerious taking a shovel pass from Fant and just exploding through the line. Someone had the angle and he got pulled down inside the 5, but that was my first glimpse into his potential since I never saw him in high school. Then the coaching staff wasted pretty much the rest of this freshman year.

Don't we ever learn? We had one of the top punters in the nation come in and we were doing stupid crap like letting people hit him in practice. He got hurt and never was able to fully recover eventually just fading away. So you want to take our one decent kicker and start running him against SEC defensive linemen? No thanks, I vote for just letting the guy kick the ball.

Also, we have 2 good kickers but that's besides the point. And last time I checked, I don't think I've ever seen a kicker run a fake field goal right at a SEC defensive lineman. They usually run way around the end.

I say give him a shot.

a point I've always wondered (though not thoroughly). How do you recruit kickers and punters? You don't ever want the punter to kick and you want the kicker to kick more extra points than field goals. So what do you tell a kid? Do you show him all the special teams trick plays? Does LSU bring a kid in and show him film of Colt David catching the ball over the shoulder of the holder and running in for a TD? Maybe they use it like Nutt uses the Wild Rebel to entice recruits. Just wondering (lightheartedly).</p>
