...I'm waiting for my 17 PSU jersey to come in the mail...plan to wear it all next season to honor those who stuck it out and may not have gotten the recognition....Tom Bradley comes to mind for that group.

I probably should have said 'gave it his all' vs 'stuck it out'.

I thought he shows incredible progress and could have easily won another 2 games.

Other the LB that went to Tennessee, he was the one player I was hoping would stay.

I hope he crashes and burns - and he more than likely will if he's learning from Obrien and Franklin. You ain't with us, you're against us.
A new coach brought in a starting QB and backup and you hope he crashes and burns for transferring? Man, some people take this stuff way too seriously. I repeat one more time - there is nothing more emotional than the male sports fan.

You would have lost your sh*t if this board were around when Hostetler and the Joachim transferred out.
I was at Penn State when Hostetler and Blackledge were there...tough decision but the right one for Hoss.

I just enjoy seeing players get the chance to progress, and unfortunately it seems lately we've had a number of QBs who got the starting role over several years and didn't progress.

You got that right. I think they ruined Allar. If the NFL team he goes to can cleanse the fear of getting intercepted from his mind they will have a really good QB.

One way to justify a closeout purchase.

What is remarkable is that he experienced Franklin first hand. He witnessed the destruction of Allar. He witnessed how Franklin's assistant turned the offense AND PASSING GAME around. Why would he trust the guy? It's all on tape for the love of Pete.

There could be a couple million reasons $ for joining VT. Totally agree with your point, though. Franklin to date has ruined dropback qbs.

Did he? I mean several of those QB's went onto other programs with limited success and another had NFL coaching and couldn't fix what was broken.
My issue with Franklin is he didn't seem to go all in on one or the other and picked lousy OC's and WR's coaches.

He did well with the dual threat Trace, but he broke his 2 pure dropbacks of Hackenberg (regressed significantly from where he was with BOB) and Allar. Obviously Cliff sits there as well and his time at PSU is complicated. In truth, I liked Cliff. He did get an extra year from Covid.

Making a terrible mistake going to VT. It's a shame his talent will be wasted there. If there's one thing I would root for, it's for him to transfer somewhere better after pissing a year away in Blacksburg.

Yea it's the Hack one I have issues with. He had a bunch of coaches. No one but BOB got anything out of him and when BOB had his chance to pick him up he didnt'.
Cliff was so much better than the fans thought.
We have Cliff against ND we win.

He did his part to give us a win over the now-#1 team in the country, but the defense blew the lead he gave them. In just his 3rd start. But yeah, Blue Hens… 🙄

Totally agree regarding Cliff. I think we beat both OSU and ND in 2024 with Cliff versus Allar. Cliff is difficult to really categorize here at PSU in terms of drop back versus dual threat. I think Franklin tried to force him to be more of a runner than he actually was. That final season really cemented his legacy at PSU in a positive manner. He didn’t crap his pants like Allar did.

It is a bit of a head scratcher. The only thing Tgar can come up with is money, and lots of it. Campbell made it clear from the start it was going to be his guy Becht showing everyone how to go through the process. Hope it works. Would have preferred Grunk.

I know everybody hates Franklin now, but I really hope Grunk does well. He seems like a really good kid who has surmounted a lot of challenges.
He was a freshman putting in his time, what exactly did he “surmount”?

Good luck to Grunk but probably not the ideal landing spot for him. As has been noted, VA Tech brought in another QB via the portal so it’s not like he’s guaranteed the job anyway
