I think I found Sherrod's replacement. Archie Muniz.

That kid is a baller. His Junior film from Scout is impressive. He was playing at 230 and still dirt-rolling bitches. I think he is up to 240 now and you can expect him to put on some real weight during a redshirt year. I really hope we turn him.

His star rating (2) is a good example of a problem with the system. Granted, it is just a highlight clip, but I really think he is every bit as good as Robinson (technically). Obviously, Robinson has a big edge on him in the weight department. I still think Muniz merits a 3-star.

Regardless, I hope we finish with Robinson, Muniz and Day on the OL. That would be a very promising group (if you haven't seen Day's video, you should).

Edited to add: Muniz is apparently up to 260 now per an interview on Scout.

when it comes to offensive linemen. It's not hard to spot an Andre Smith or a Michael Oher, but that's all they're good for. Just look at the NFL and where a lot of the linemen are from. Idaho St, Eastern Michigan, Toledo, etc.

Damien Robinson's coach think he ends up at RT or maybe even Guard. So yeah, I would love to get Muniz. Steve had him at 25% though.

it's ALL about development. O-line and QB are the two positions where guys almost have to be RS.

That's why it is so critical to have a good o-line coach and strength and conditioning coach.

Fortunately, I think we have both right now.

it's all about evaluation, development, and a little luck.

Here's some 2009 All-Pro's for you: Ryan Clady, Boise State; Michael Roos, Eastern Washington; Kris Dielman, Indiana; Jahri Evans, Bloomsburg Universtiy (wtf). The rest are basically Boston College or Big 10 alums.

A lot of OL success is based on footspeed and attitude. Intelligence also seems to play a factor - most NFL level OL come off as being pretty smart guys
