How when you go to MStateathletics to reseve away game tickets the prices are the followng: @LSU $50, @HOU $45, @UF $50, @BAMA $50....@MISS $65.<div>
</div><div>What are they trying to prove here? Is it just that they don't want our fans there because they are afraid we might beat their *** again? That's what I'm going with.</div>

I'll go check it out.

The waiting list to obtain season tickets for the Crimson Tide is currently 15,000+. Once selected, new ticket holders must make a 5-500K donation to the athletic department that ranges from $5,000 to $500,000 (depending on seat location) before receiving any tickets.

I was fortunate to score Bama/UT tickets from my folkslast year and almost choked when I saw the face value of $70... and I'm sure they shelled out a lot more than that.

Best prices for games from "scalpers" range from 80-1000+ online.</p>

It's a joint effort between UM and MSU. Egg Bowl tickets will be $65 going forward, with the excess proceeds going to a scholarship fund. Only a complete dubmass would start a thread like this.

afford that?

Heck, how do your alums afford that?

If I were a Bama fan, I would just buy road tickets from the other schools and take my lumps sitting with the likes of LSU and Florida fans in their gay *** Tebow gear. It would be a lot cheaper, not to mention easier and effective.

it's like trying to get a ticket to a Steelers Game... I guess there's just lot of "us" creating a "sellers" market...supply/demand thingy....

It's not heard of for Bama people to buy Auburn Season Tickets justfor a seat forthe Iron Bowl.

because if I have to donate 5K to the athletic dept., it's going to be hard to make that up deficit. Unless the tickets are going for 1-2K apiece. Which they may very well be.

I think it is ridiculous that you see that many Alabama fans skipping out on their Trailer payments so that they can buy football tickets. You guys need to get you priorities right.

it's just inflated demand.... unless I misunderstood you...</p>

Is the donation a one time deal, or do the season ticket holders have to donate to the AD every year?

And you didn't misunderstand. I'm just saying if I'm going to sell something, I'm going to want to make a profit, and if I can't do that, I would just use the tickets myself. If I have to make a 5K donation every year, and then purchase season tickets, I'm going to want to make more than whatever I spent.

At MSU, most of us have to donate to the Bulldog Club every year to keep our tickets. I would much rather MSU do it the way that they do it now than make a one time payment. MSU gets more money and it's more managable for me to do it that way.

although he does. Its because this has already been discussed on this very board and not all that long ago.

that they have to pay thousands of dollars in the first place, but point taken.

Not going there this year.
If I wanted to get insulted on someone else's campus, I'd return to Gainesville.

Had enough already in T-town.

Let's do lunch, Tusk.

I actually owe a few of them big time for helping me out of jams.

As the other poster noted, he busted your balls because this topic was discussed quite some time ago. I will say that your rather immature and antagonistic response to an admittedly antagonistic prompt certainly doesn't help your case. Maybe you're a bright guy, maybe not - but you saw to it you lost the internet pissing match when you chose to reeespawnd lik dis'a hear. We understood what you were getting at, and it was neither clever nor in any way helped you make your point. Also, sidenote: Google is your friend.

Despite all the **** talking and futbol talk between the schools, we're both tasked with helping out the state. This scholarship program goes a long ways to that end. So does the ongoing collaboration between OM and MSU in helping boost the North Mississippi economy. I don't know whose administration is more to blame for letting this get out of hand, but as a casualty of attempting to stoke the rivalry flames, Nafoom and Sixpackspeak have suffered a serious influx of posters who insist on believing the tobacco-lawyering, tractor-driving stereotypes are the gospel truth. I just don't get it...
