I think it's safe to say we've turned the proverbial corner.

I said last week after the Vandy win on Sunday that I would hold judgment until I see how we respond to it with a week off of midweek games. I'm elated to now say we've passed with flying colors. I like....no, I love the way this team is playing. And the best part is seeing these freshmen making big time contributions. And you notice who hasn't been in the lineup? Maybe Frost has now officially been designated as a pinch runner. Keep it up John and Co.

I could have stayed in hiding like many have when they are proved wrong on here. Instead, I give credit where it's due and Cohen is proving now why he's a damn good coach. I, like many forgot just how far we had fallen when Cohen took over. We're starting to see some fruits of labor kicking in and I'm mighty proud to be wrong. Now let's keep this thing going.

take 2 of 3 next weekend and things certainly look a LOT better than they did after game 2 in nashville, but we are still shaky in the pen, we have no certainties at starter for fri and sun. Hopefully Routt cures that.

And most importantly, its a long season and the meat of the schedule lies ahead.

We're making good, tangible progress it seems. We're not where we should be yet- competing for championships. We need to continue to make progress, continue to recruit well, and like John Cohen says "stack good classes".

You win championships with great players, and that was one of my main reasons for wanting Cohen- I knew that he could recruit. I have yet to see in my lifetime, a team win a championship in baseball that that didn't have good players on it.

I guess now you'll try and discount this series win by saying that Auburn isn't that great.

You're not objective about our baseball program and you haven't been in awhile.

We have 25 more SEC games left. The SEC season will only be 20% over after tommorrow. We still have to play Florida, South Carolina, LSU- all at home. Also, we don't have Kentucky, which is a disadvantage for us.
We have to go to Arkansas and Ole Miss and neither of those will be easy.

Last year, we wouldn't have stayed on the field with a top 25 team. We've now won 3 straight. Most of us came into this season wanting to see improvement and to date, it's obvious. Friday night's game was really all a credit to Cohen's recruiting of new arms. To be able to mix and match out of the bullpen and be effective was huge. That's what we've been lacking so desperately. Of course, the bats coming around helps also. What I'm most interested now is seeing if we've got that killer instinct to nail down a sweep. Not being satisfied with simply winning a series. We all said year 3 was make or break and so far, we're getting it done. I like the makeup of where things are headed.

Shoot, even auto-out Thigpen had a great night at the plate last night. Hopefully this type of play will continue and maybe just maybe Devin Jones will get it together.

By no means am I going to complain about taking a series from a top 25 team... hell even just a series against another team PERIOD (only did it once in the SEC last year...) ... and while I will agree visible improvement is there, I'm not ready to jump on the bandwagon just yet. As far as I'm concerned, Auburn had a terrible weekend as much as we have had an awesome weekend. Turning the corner takes time and one series in one weekend is not going to show me we have turned a corner. We have, however, improved, and I will say that much. We still have a lot of pitching and even some hitting issues we need to work out.

It was the kind of thing that we've needed to happen so badly for us for so long and it finally did. That gave our guys the confidence they so desperately needed, and I think you actually may be right. That win last Sunday may have been the light bulb our young offensive team finally turned on and we may have finally turned the corner. I haven't seen us play this confident since we beat Clemson in '07. I'm not predicting us winning the conference or even division, for that matter, but we have the look of a Hoover bound team after 1 2/3 SEC series.

get some top 25 votes. Doubt we'll get ranked, but I'm sure some people will notice- especially if we win tommorrow.

What's funny is the college baseball talking heads have a hard on for Georgia for some reason even though they are average. If we won that series, that would actually get us more respect from them than beating a top 25 team. Go figure- and thank God they don't pick the regionals. They would probably give College of Charleston a national seed this year because they beat Davidson twice. And they really say crap like that. No logic at all.

Some people also thought Croom had "turned the corner" on more than one occasion. Beating UF in 2004, Liberty Bowl in 07, etc.

We have 25 SEC games left. Little early to be proclaiming that we have emerged from the wilderness.

The OP wanted Cohen fired last week and now he thinks we've turned the corner. Let's just slow down and stop jumping from one conclusion to another and just let it happen.

cautiously optimistic. I've been a Bulldog far to long. I'm extremely happy where we are and look forward to where we are going but the path is not littered with cupcakes or manna.

Maybe we're now tearing off a shred of herclothing after each win. We give Polk hell but the man was right. "That's baseball". I'm just glad we don't have a Dorn on this team. I've finally realized the direction we're going and we're gonna get it done. I just had to see real results and they're coming in now. Talk had gotten cheap but I've seen enough now to say without doubt we're heading in the right direction. We've recruited quality arms and our freshmen are playing like the kind of players we have missed so badly lately. They're gamers and I like that. To the cautious crowd, I wouldn't be putting myself out there for a hanging after the rough things I said last week if I didn't see the positive direction finally starting to unfold. We're going to surprise people sooner than some think.
