I think it's time for the 1B defense to become #2.

"This crap" is the reason we're going to have a fresh, healthy first team defense against those teams. Did we see the rotations on offense continue once we got into games against decent defenses? No, and neither will we see much of the "1B's" in the secondary against Ole Miss and Bama. 1B's at DL and linebacker are fine because they actually are 1B's and benefit us greatly by keeping everyone fresh throughout the game.

Question for you: Did "this crap" kill us vs A&M or Auburn? Both are better passing teams IMO. It's good to get them playing time in legit situations.

Sure I got nervous a little bit but I never thought we were going to lose. Matter of fact as soon as turtle caught that onside kick in stride I yelled "NOW TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE BABY, YEAHHHHH", and he happily obliged.

Looking at the UK game, the first big play was a missed tackle by a backup that arguably would have been made by the starter. However, the second big play was an absolutely perfect throw and catch and would have been tough to defend by anybody.

Watching the Auburn game, they were actually able to run against our second team defensive line, and we generally subbed the first teamers back in in the red zone. This is what I'd be looking at against Arkansas. Will they suddenly be able to move the ball on the ground a little better against our 1b DL. They have some really impressive running backs.

Agree with Fishwater. The "1B" is a misnomer. The squad is clearly 2nd team and has given up lots of yards in previous games, even AU and A&M. The 1st team will come back in after the team crosses midfield or thereabouts, and then do a good job of keeping them out of the endzone. But make no mistake the second team is clearly worse than the first team; it's not a 1B situation.

You're already crazy.** If State runs the offense at the pace it runs, the 1A plays like #2. The exchange gives a fresh 4th Qtr 1A.

I'm expecting to see less substitutions in the secondary for the Bama and OM games. As previously stated, rotation within the front 7 is less of a drop off and is needed, especially at the DL.

I agree... The problem is when we swap out the whole 11 players..
