until he figured he needed to throw something into his press conference to make it look like he was "trying to improve as a human being" and figured that would be safer than a more controversial religion to claim.

He has definitely commented about being a Buddhist many times before. Not so much in the recent past, but it came up alot when he was first coming on the Tour. He took a big hit for it in the "county club" world.

That said, he doesnt seem to have the calm and tranquility of such a religion when he is flinging clubs and cursing at himself. But who should care what his religion is anyway.

a "calm and tranquil" religion has been sorely misguided. The stuff I've seen firsthand while living in a Buddhist village in India would make you shudder. Not to mention the violence they have engaged in with Muslims and the hatred they have of the Chinese.</p>
