I think the problems with the offense are simply the fact that Mullen cannot

coach a pocket passer. Everyone thought that Mullen was the reason that Urban Meyer had a drop off at Florida, but the reason is that Meyer and Mullen cannot coach a scheme with a true pocket passer. Russell probably deserves better, but Mullen would be best served to scrap this offense and go to Prescott. Probably be tough to do at this point, so probably not even realistic to think it could happen.

They also both coached Heisman quality QBs in their program. Oddly enough, Tim Tebow will make a lot of OCs look damn good in college.

I think you're probably right. We're doing Russell a disservice putting him in this type offense.

Mullen is just not a great offensive coach. he has wasted our best qb ever at MSU by trying to make him a spread qb, instead of changing our offense to suit TR.
