i can't necessarily disagree with you. I would like to see Sallich reassigned like last year though. Bring in a big time recruiter in his place.
TR was hurt all year. Dak has progressed pretty well. Not understanding your complaint. QB is not, has not been our problem....other than injuries.
Agree 100%. Mullen has done a good job of developing QBs. Injuries plus the development of Presscott is what did in Russell's senior year.
Must I link the hundreds of posts saying that the problem with TR is that he does not fit Dan's system? Dak was no better than the 10th best quarterback in the SEC this year. Probably worse than that given certain injuries. See here.
Russell was a 5 star passing QB out of high school with an unlimited upside potential to move to the next two levels (college then NFL). If Mullen did a great job of developing him as a QB when his injuries heal he`ll be a bonifide NFL QB prospect.....right ? Look , I`m as happy as the rest of you that we won the last two games but saying Mullen did a good job of developing Tyler Russell is horse ****.
You're joking right? I'm not saying that they played poorly. I'm saying that I can't think of another SEC school that they would not outperform what they did at State. I'm a TR supporter but he should have been a lot more polished coming into his senior year - having been in the program 5 years. Dak's been here 3 years and still can't make the correct read.
Just please don't tell me that the QBs have exceeded expectations. If anything, the true freshman QB with less personal attention has been the one to outperform expectations.
Please tell you didn't really just link an article from Sept 24 trying to tell me that Dak Prescott was the "no better than the 10th best QB in the SEC" and "probably worse".
ESPN has Dak as the 17th best qb in the country according to their QBR Rating
Who rated Russell as a five star? Neither Scout nor Rivals did. Both had him at four. I'm not sure that makes you a "bonafide NFL prospect."
Having said that, the whole "developing quarterbacks" thing is an illusion. The coaches who are considered to do that run a good offensive system and sign a number of good prospects. Whichever one beats out the others will put up good numbers.

Tyler had thrown for 21 TDs with only 4 INTs thru 11 games in 2012. He ended the season with two terrible games against UM & NW, but the first 11 games were probably the best passing performance we'll ever see at MSU.
And you don't think Chris Relf throwing for 28 TDs and completing 58% of his passes over his career could be considered outperforming expectations? You must have lofty expectations for 2-star QBs with no other scholarship offers.
Yes. I did. It was the first SEC QB roster that I found. I think the list holds true today but I'd probably throw Maty Mauk in the list.
Dak is a quality passer and showed that in the Egg Bowl. He got better and better as the year went on. In HS he threw a lot of balls, so I can assure you he's gonna show you he's a good passing QB. We're going to see an offense very similar to Tim Tebow at UF for the for seeable future. We can't afford to miss on Fitzgerald or Staley tho. Damien has impressed, but hasn't proven anything yet.
So, idiot confirmation then?
Fact - had Dak started 12 games, he would be #1 or #2 in total points scored in the entire SEC.
But you think he's "at best 10th" in conference.
Your and dubmass.
I'm not adding anything else to this ridiculous argument because it's obvious that your and idiot.
Just tell me then who you move Dak ahead of on that list. The SEC was loaded with elite QB talent this year.
Please don't start a sentence with "FACT (if)"**
