I think we need to pull for Mark Richt to keep winning

a Gator fan just mentioned to me that Georgia's new AD was the associate AD at Fla the last 14 years

We need Mullen a couple more years

but if Richt were to be let go at the end of this or next year, they have the pockets and name to go after plenty of high-profile coaches with a longer documented history than Dan Mullen. Mullen would still be a gamble to a large portion of their fan base. I think he would be a few spots down their list even if we were to do something crazy this year and win 8 or 9 games...

I tink he will be viewed as a top candidate. Mullen has 2 NC's on his resume- that is huge and carries a ton of weight. And all he has shown as a HC is that he can take a bottom-feeder in the SEC and beat Florida and Georgia.

ESPN just did an all-access on us- not Georgia. Dan Mullen is high profile. And Georgia has an AD that got to watch how well he did his job and knows him.

Big concern coming down the road should Richt not get things turned back around

I'm just holding on to the "not a long history of HC experience" theory to make myself feel better about him not being looked at as a A or B candidate at a program with Georgia name and resources.

Hiring Mullen would be very similar to them hiring Richt back in 2001. Richt was around for a little while as an OC for FSU - but he was known for potent offenses, 2 NCs, and Heisman QB development. Sounds familiar...

I agree we need UGA to win from here on out. I have a friend who is a huge UGA guy, and he says he's never seen Mullen mentioned in talks. I think they'd look to guys like TCU or Boisie's coach, or the Bama DC.

I think Mullen's UF roots will work against him. Think about it, would we want to hire a guy who helped coach OM to 2 National Championships?

what better way to get back at them than to have that guy turn around and start beating them?

hired the Bears interim head coach Joe Lee Dunn and Johnny Vaught's personally hand picked successor, Bob Tyler.

was the guy they all talked about. He has strong UGA ties and he's done a great job under Saban. Another guy that gets talked about alot is the Falcon's current DC - Van Groden (something like that?). He was the DC at UGA a few years back.

I dont think it's impossible that UGA would go after Mullen, just that I honestly dont see Richt being fired, and I think they'd have a couple guys ahead of Mullen.

We go to Fla and Tn and say we need 2 mil a year from each of you and we'll do our best to keep Mullen away from Ga.

they might go for it.

will be their first two choices.

Yes, I know Muschamp is waiting in the wings at UT. And yes it is a better job, this is even admitted by several UGA alum that I work with. But there are at least whispers that UGA would be the only job he would give it up for.
