I think we pretty much need to take 2 of 3 this weekend......

.....especially if we want to talk about hosting a regional. We're at home, we should get this done. I certainly won't be down on this team if we don't take the series. But after the UCA debacle, it's time. Most people wanted 5-2 or 4-3 before last weekend, well we need to take 2 to do it. Things change and the flow of the season later on determines things later, and yeah we'll have plenty opportunity to get the wins back, but I thin we go into the driver's seat to host if we get this series. Two tough road series coming up after this....we really don't want to get out to a 3-9 start or similar.

Nola sporting a .277 ERA and Eades is at .180. Every one of our weekend starters are doing better than Nola (not as many innings pitched), and at this point, I think we've played a tougher schedule to them. So we should be able to do this. Get to them early and make them work. With our bullpen, perhaps we should be playing a little Polk-ball with these teams that have 1 or 2 big arm guys, to get them out of the game. Let's take a few pitches here and there and play station to station. Will be curious to see how Cohen plays it.

In regards to the tough schedule, hopefully now Florida continues their streak of terribleness and Tennessee actually becomes formidable, since they play the rebels.

I think we take 2/3 and 30% chance of a sweep

Mitchell pitching Saturday

Per Brad Locke weekend rotation will be:
Lindgren
Mitchell
Graveman

Would personally prefer Cox to be in the mix, but I guess he'll be available for long relief if someone has a bad outing. Gotta like our chances Sunday throwing Graveman as he's a definite upgrade from most team's Sunday guy.

I think alot rides on Holder. He hasn't been in many positions this year where the game was truely on the line despite having a number of saves. Turn these games into 7 inning games with Bracewell and Holder shutting the door. I think if we score 5 runs in each game we win 2 out 3.

Also, lets pitch around Katz. For the love of God, don't let him kill us this weekend.

What the ****? Did you watch the Purdue games? Both of those were nail biters with Holder on the mound in the last inning. Portland was a 2-1 game when he came in. St. Joseph's was a 4-1 game. UCA was a 4-2 game. He also came into the Sunday UCA game and got touched for a few runs.

Just a terrible observation.

Now I know why you hate statistical discussion so badly**

It's difficult to use a single statistic in an entire thread and manage to foul it up...

A two run lead in today's college baseball isn't that close of a game. I think he's only entered the game with one run lead once all year. He hasn't been tested very much this year.

Dumb. I've been to the games. Your opinion really is wrong, here. Now you justify it by saying a 2 run lead isn't a close game. Just shut up. Don't post anymore about baseball.

Awww.. I see it's a ":(" day..

If they only scored 2 or 3 runs the first 8 innings of the game, they shouldn't score 2 in the 9th. I don't give a f*ck who is pitching. Holder has pitched some games closer than they were before he entered this year. I'm not saying he's unproven, but he hasn't been tested very much this year.

I think it's the biggest SEC series

We've had in terms on anticipation in awhile. It's not do or die, but I do think winning it would be huge in terms of confidence for both the team and the fans.
