1) joe brought in Tommy because he thought that KT wasn’t picking up his system well enough

2) joes system is actually what’s broken and he doesn’t realize it

3) bringing in Tommy was a terrible move that hurt the team morale and undermined some fan support

4) letting Willie Gay play today was a really bad decision, if GS had to miss because of Willies (And his)actions, then Willie should too - this undermined even more fan support because it reeks of no discipline and no consequences

The only thing that makes me think No. 3 isn’t accurate is the team voted Tommy a Captain. That is still a head scratcher to me.

He seems really likeable in all his interviews and was probably throwing dimes in practice against air. He also managed to go all season without getting punched in the face.

I think the team felt pressure to vote Stevens as team captain. We have the "whose Ya Boy" thread to start each season and this year Joe Moorhead's "Ya Boy" was Tommy Stevens.

Therefore not naming Stevens a team captain would not only be a slap in the face to Tommy Stevens, it would be a slap in the face to Joe Moorhead as well. Not 100% accepting Stevens would sort of be like saying "Coach Joe, your judgment is 17ing Wrong! We don't even need this Penn State bench warmer boy."

That's ridiculous.

I would need to know absolute facts about the fight before I decide about #4. Sometimes people deserve to be punched in the face, regardless of who they are or their position. I have no idea if that is what happened here, but I have an open mind.

That did it for me! Until then, I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. The fight, and Moorhead's reaction confirmed my believe that the team is out of control and he doesn't have the ability to do anything about it. He and the team are way too soft. I look for MSU to be Arkansas bad next year.

It would appear that unlike almost every locker room fight I’ve ever known Gay appeared to lack the self control innate to such scuffles. Kind if like fighting between family or friends. This also follows a pattern of selfish behavior for Gay with tutiorgate and unsportsmanlike fouls that is really going to hurt him in the NFL draft.

In some way it seemed to me that the culture of the team was infected with this and that is the responsibility of one man.

5. The team had multiple first quarter suspensions due to something that happened on the trip. There's a problem in that locker room.

Everyone at work thought the same thing: "You're gonna let the LB play who knocked your starting QB out of the game?"
