but this Masolli to Ole Miss thing is starting to sound like it has some legs. I know this was discussed when the board was talking about him possibly coming here. He has finished his undergrad, and can transfer to any school as not in the PAC-10 without sitting out as long as he enrolls in a grad program that is not offered at Oregon. Apparently Ole Miss has something that works.

This is exactly the type of player Nutt could be very dangerous with, and I have to admit it concerns me.

1) Masoli at Ole Miss would make me hate the TBDs even more.

2) I don't fear Masoli in his 1st year at any school. He'll be Yaw Yaw II. He can't walk be an effective starter at QB one month after walking on to campus. He'll make a play every now and then. But he'd be mostly ineffective as a QB. That said, Nutt would probably make him their Wildcat guy. He's still no Dexter McCluster. But he could throw some out of the Wildcat.

In short, Ole Miss would be a little scary for a few plays per game with Masoli, but I still wouldn't be any more concerned with their football team.

Masoli > Cotton & Stanley

If we really had any chance at him earlier, we should have taken it.

Miller can't even join the team until 2011, and he'll probably redshirt in 2011. They are completely unrelated.

then worry about this rash of commitments they are getting. And it looks like more are coming.

However, I am immune to recruiting nowadays since I no longer have a subscription to any site. I followed that crap since about 2004 and nothing is ever as it seems. Only thing I can see now is the Dandy Dozen, and I just hope we get half of them.

Their camp just ended. Why are these surprises? Mayers definitely stings, and was kind of surprising, but what did you think was going to happen this week following camp? Now if we don't get some kind of rash ofcommits starting next week, then Iwill start to get a little concerned about us.

They're getting some good commits, but it's a helluva long way to Feb 11.

if you are hoping to get 1/2 the dandy doz, it is my considered opinion you are in for a disappointment. right now (and of course it is a lloooonnnnggg way to feb) it looks like we might get as many as 9 of them with one to bama.....i expect the usual "critiques" to follow which is fine. time will tell.

Seriously, I really don't know since I made myself not follow it like before. I know that Ole Miss has some serious momentum.

Ole Miss will get 9 DD's? Come on dude, you know as well as I do that wont happen. Keep on dreaming. Each school will be lucky to land 6 on a year like this.

hope he does go to UM. I am not at all worried about UM recruiting because they always sign a nice class and it never pans out in the end. If you go back and re-rank their recent classes to account for those that never show up and play then I think the facts will back me up. They are going to attract somegood playerson the offensive sidethis year because they are hurting on that side of the ball for talent right now. They are a hype machine, hopefully we have figured that out by now.

have a point. No doubt you guys have improved but without the luck of the schedule falling your way you would not have two 10 win seasons with Cotton Bowl victories to be braggin about and I know you are smart enough and honest enough to admit that fact. UM will struggle on offense this year like they have not seen in quite some time, it will be interesting to see if the defense which should be very good can carry them to a croomish type Liberty Bowl win year, there are question marks and no depth at almost every position on the offensive side of the ball which is attracting alot of recurits who see immediate playing time next year. Dexter 17ing McCluster was awesome and without him last year you might not have won six games and that is a fact.

LT screwed us by scheduling OOC opponents that hinder our progress as a program. It does us absolutely no good to play GA Tech, WVU, etc. Zero.

I don't give a 17 who OM plays, they're rebuilding this year and will still go to a bowl game. We have been to 2 since 2000. It's 17ing sad.

Yes, Ole Miss' 2009 schedule wasn't too bad. 2008? I think you may be remembering what you want to; it wasn't a meatgrinder, but it wasn't a cake-walk, either. We still played Florida and Alabama (beating Florida), LSU, and both seasons saw us beat a nationally ranked opponent (2008 being #8 Texas Tech) in a bowl game. Your tone suggests we were beating the Sisters of the Poor's second team, and that isn't exactly true. While I'll readily concede State's schedule was worse... I'd be interested to see a side-by-side list of non-common opponents, to help judge the scale of how much worse it really was.

pointed out a couple of weeks ago that there is very little difference in the talent between the two schools starting last year and certainly this year. There seems to be an implication from UM that they are creaming us in recruiting over the past few years and that they are really going to hand us our *** this year which just isn't true on either account.

I hate the fact we are playing a tough schedule yet again, it buys you nothing in football.

You are wrong. From 2005-2007, we finished either 11th or 12th in the SEC in scoring, scoring as low as 13 points per game one year. We will put points on the board. We'll be a young team offensively, and we won't be among the SEC elite offensively, but if there is one thing Nutt has done over the years, his teams, even in down years have at least put a decent amount on the board. He's never brought up the rear offensively We'll be in the 6th-9th range in the SEC in scoring, but we won't be atrocious. We'll find a way to put points on the board, and we'll be bowling again.

The difference between our 8-4 and your 5-7 last year was not just schedule disparity. It was your failure to beat opponents that we beat.

You beat us head to head, and yes our schedule helped our cause, but you could've beaten some of those other opponents on your schedule that we did, and you didn't. You can't blame it all on schedule.

And in 2008, we had at least as tough a schedule as you did, if not tougher. We went 8-4. You went 4-8.

when an outsider looks at it, they see a team with 10 wins and they see a team with 5 wins. They don't look at or care who you played.

the challenges at all positions on offenseat Arkansas that he will have this year at UM. The offensive line is a huge question mark and from past experience I can tell you thatproblem is hard as hell to overcome. It is fun to argue and speculate and I'm sure we will have fun in the coming months, we will see.

years, there is no denying that fact. My point is we have made huge improvements under Mullen and we are on the rise. I honestly feel for the first time in many years that we are a serious threat to beat you in Oxford. There is also no denying the fact that our schedule has worked out to be tougher than yours the past few years which is mostly luck of the draw. Yes, we did blow some games last year that would have made a big difference in our year, hopefully Diaz, and better quarterbacking will help us win seven this year.

First of all, you can't count. LSU + Arkansas = 2.

You played LSU close and it could have gone either way. Just like our game.

You beat the **** out of Arkansas, who beat the **** out of us, who beat the **** out of you. Wash.

We both beat Vanderbilt by 2 scores, us by 12 you by 14.

Alabama and Auburn kicked both our asses.

OOC difference is Georgia Tech/Houston/MTSU/JSU vs. UAB/Memphis/No.Arizona/SE Louisiana. A joke.

You beat Tennessee, while we beat Kentucky. Both bowl teams.

We lost to Florida, you lost to South Carolina. Both somewhat close games.

So all things considered, you're probably a game better than us, if that. Try again.

Back to back 9 win seasons proves that there was more than just smoke and mirrors to us actually landing some decent talent.

And I think we're on track right now to put ourselves in position to be winning 9, and yes maybe even 10 games in a season more often in the future.

I know that Bo Bounds is the authority on SEC football on here but the NFL disagrees with Bo on this one. Just look at the NFL draft. Case closed!

evaluator of talent and Nutt has been the beneficiary because he can actually coach. Now what is your current point?
