I agree with you that Lee is a better thrower and needs to distinguish himself as the better QB if State is going to win many games this year. But the fact is that he hasn't done that. When he drops back to pass, he panics instead of going through his progressions when receivers are covered. He's got to be leading the nation in passes getting deflected, too. The **** he pulled at the end of the half by taking that sack was absolutely terrible.
Edited to add: Elliot didn't drop the ball as you say. He had it stripped. It got stripped from the back side while he got stood up. He didn't go anywhere because he was hit immediately.
