My mother in law works with a very influential MSU booster and what she's heard is that Tuberville will be named our new head coach on Friday.
I think we have to name a coach by monday. If we dont, the commits that we have are gonna jump ship and go to a place they know has a solid coaching foundation. A team like Ole Miss who just beat the dog crap out of us is an up and coming team with a good recruiting head coach. We need to get a coach now, and it needs to be a game changing head coach. None of this Dooley, Patterson, Turner Gill garbage, but a Tubberville and Peterson type of coach so we can stay up to par with the top notch coaches that we have to go against every week in the SEC.
but I was told the same thing around 7:30 tonight. I also heard he was seen at the Bryan Building.
There is some much **** being spewed on here, I don't have a clue what is going on. I'm almost to the point of not believing that Croom resigned from MSU by reading this board.

Do we wait it out and risk that scenario unfolding or do we jump on Tubby now that he's available? Looks like that's the decision we're looking at.
But I have 100% confidence that he was, in fact, in Starkville today at some point as others have said. No bullshitting. He was spotted at several locations because he was being shown around some of the places you would expect a head football coach to be shown. (MSU Foundation, Bryan Bldg, etc.)
Again, who knows if he's the guy, but he was there.

B'ham news had guys staked out at Auburn Athletics building all day today and yesterday rporting Tubby's every move. Tubby was with Jacobs (AD) until around 3 or 4 and then i think he had a press conference after that.

leaving the football complex at Auburn and it was after dark. Still plenty of time to fly over but he was definitely still at Auburn after sundown.
Tubberville was in Auburn all day. The news here in B'ham have been showing clips of him at Auburn's football facilities at various times of the day. The most frequent clip is of him driving his truck just after dark. It looks like the Bryan Building in the background!
I got the feeling that he had heard something too. I'm telling you guys.......I believe my sources and after listening to the old bastards for years tell me what was about to happen at MSU and those things coming true, I finally created my first "bank on it" rumor. If they're wrong, I'll just stfu next time. -
my sister in law who knows of a really rich booster for MSU that DOOLEY was seen on campus touring with Greg Byrne and Jack Cristil. He then got a tour of Allen Hall and went to the Grill and had the tuna melt sandwhich. Here comes the king everyone...DOOLEY!!
immediately after a presser. I didn't believe the guy who told me (he had no reason to lie, however), and that's why I held off posting anything - to see if anyone else heard the same. All this rumor **** is getting beyond ridiculous, I do know that.
Well, i was told by friends last night that was over in the parking lot by the Bryan building yesterday that they saw Petersen. Not that i actually believe them at all, just trying to say that a lot of people have either "heard" or "seen" of different coaches being on campus or being named a "done deal." It also seems as if everybody has a friend or is friends with a big time booster with inside info. Not saying that any body is wrong. I don't mind if Tommy is our coach. It just seems that i've heard too many rumors of different coaches too believe really anybody at this point. I guess we will know for sure when they bring the press conference out.
In fact, the joke was on the media camped outside the offices waiting to hear something from the meetings and then low and behold, about 2:30 p.m., Tubby drives up with Jacobs in his car and they are all smiling and laughing at the media guys. They had been out somewhere talking about the situation away from all of the media.
Tubs spotted at the Bryan Building. Hudspeth rumor I believe is true as well. Press conference supposedly going to be tomorrow after lunch if this thing has life to it. The pine box scenario is in full form. What BriantheDawg has said is the word that has been spreading all over campus. Tubs might be wearing maroon colors before we know it boys. </p>P.S. I hope it is all ******** but everyone i've talked with have said Tubs has been making the rounds.
