but its not possible that he was in starkville today unless it was before 6:30/7 am or after 9 pm.

He, like Byrne, may be of the james Bond type.

is that a flight from Auburn to Starkville would be 30 minutes, tops. Just sayin'. I seriously doubt anyone in the media saw him every minute of the day.

And there are way too many people that I trust that are telling me, and telling others, that they saw him with their own eyes.

I have confirmation that TT was seen eating a steamer at the new Krystal in starkville.... He's in for sure!

In other news.... Sylvester croom was confirmed being seen walking into barnhills in tuscaloosa.

P.S. None of what i just wrote is true.... just thought i would throw some more bull **** onto the board.

If Tubby really was on campus, hopefully it is just a ploy on Greg's part to put pressure on Petersen to make a decision. Greg has stated he wants a coach that will open up the offense, that doesn't describe Tubby. Just look how well opening up Auburn's offense worked out.

He could go from Auburn to Starkville, meet with Byrne and a few others, and be back in Auburn in 2 hours. Fancy thing called a private jet.

The Daily Journal made a good point. That makes three coaches supposedly seen in Starkville tonight.

Maybe they weren't there when he was there. Maybe Greg called all the media folks or shot them a text and told them to meet at such and such place to get them all away from there for a few minutes. Hell I don't know. I'm just going off trusted information that I got earlier in the night, sat on it because I wasn't going to start two stupid rumors in one day, and obviously there's a couple other folks who also saw him. So I am starting to think there's actually some legs to Tubs being in Starkville tonight. If you think about it, it's not really that far-fetched.

leaving the football complex at Auburn and it was after dark. Still plenty of time to fly over but he was definitely still at Auburn after sundown.
He called a team meeting for 6:30 tonight. Met with them all, became extremely emotional and broke down. Has said he wants to stay in Auburn.

Emsfinger's wife, Amy, went off on radio this afternoon, accusing Saban of buying recruits, said no one will ever beat Alabama with that going on. Imagine that, UA buying recruits.

If he was in Starkville, it wouldn't have been before 8 PM. So, when did all of y'all see him?

He made sure all the media promised not to tell anyone (even though that's what they get paid to do).
And Tommy hoped on a private jet during about a 2-HOUR window flew to golden triangle, drove 10-15 minutes to campus met with Byrne for 45min-hour sealed the deal and hoped back on the plane and flew back to Auburn to meet/say bye-bye to his ex-players. All without any media catching wind of it. He's like Batman (with big ears).

...A coaching search is about the most exciting thing that can happen on this message board. I can't study for **** because I keep hitting refresh to see the next ridiculous rumor. We should do this more often.</p>

Is it possible that Tuberville flew to Starkville in the morning and then flew back to Auburn in the afternoon for his 2:30 press conference?

That makes some sense to me. Think about it- Jacobs could have told Tuberville yesterday that he was going to be fired today. Tuberville then calls his agent, or calls Byrne direct to see if he can interview. Byrne then calls Jacobs and sets up a tour in the morning before their press conference. Byrne, Jacobs, and Tuberville then could've met to talk about buyouts, contracts, and etc. THEN Jacobs and Tuberville could have flown back to Auburn or Montgomery and had the press conference, and meetings, and etc. Also by doing this, Tuberville could sleep in his own pine box tonight.

It's possible.

So is teleportation. Auburn has a lot of money.

Pickle - Big Ole Blond hair 45 yr old former bouncer at the Landing who has a crush on a 23 yr old coed here in Starkville and she looks at him as just a good friend.

I know, I know, this only makes sense to all the people that know the real Pickle !

"on campus" thing, but my sources say tubs is in fact a lock, and that he is bringing the OC from UNA (successful spread offense? i know nothing about una)... details being worked as we speak, with an official announcement to come midday friday...

personnally, i dont care for tubs. great coach, crappy human being and would probably leave us when the first "better" job became available.

ill never forget after we completely shut them down in 2000 in vegas, seems like they were top 10 and we beat them 17-0, his only comment after the game was something to the effect of "its just so hard to get our boys up to play in front of 50,000 people". i guess ive just never forgiven him for that... hes the biggest prick to ever set foot on a college football field in my mind

Maybe Byrne is waiting on Petersen through the weekend but has Tubby ready if he doesn't take it. Just throwing that out there.

some little guy jumped on Pickle's back and wouldn't let go.

Pickle couldn't get him off and kept moving around like he was doing a hula hoop.

It was all I could do to keep fighting while laughing at the same time.

Tuberville is a butt head! Not sure about what I will do but hiring him is the worst mistake we can make!!
Lier, cheat, and whatever else you want to say. And the fact he worked at OLe Miss and Auburn, that is enough right there.

he is not here. You might as well get off the Petersen kick because it is not going to happen. Don't be surprised if he does not end up at Auburn.

Pickle! I hope it is not a guy with the initials JF that worked a desk at the MHP either.

Pickle though.....have not heard anything about him in 10 years....but 10 years ago still hanging around MSU doing nothing. That is living care free.

I wonder though......how many of these "sources" get info from this message board. Relay that info with a few phone calls. Then the info gets reposted here as from "my source."

ill say this and i am mostly a lurker, so im sure you guys dont care...but if a guy like tommy tubberville is interested in coachinga t MSU we need to count our blessings and jump on that. He is the only candidate that has proven he can consistently win in the sec. He has averaged 8.5 wins/year in auburn. he won at ole miss....he will win at state.. peterson and patterson and all these other guys are intiguing but tommy tubberville is tommy tubberville. we would be absolutely foolish not to hire him if the opportunity is there
