The Players get paid, the coaches get paid, tough questions should be asked.
what i think i know. what i may know. when i may pick my noseWhat’s true after the loss to Missou ? Rinse repeat
Nobody asks those kinds of things. Not even pro team beat writers. All I ever hear is "Coach, what does it mean to you when you see so and so out there doing blah blah blah?" "Coach how do you think this team has improved at handling adversity and what does that mean to you and the team?" "Player xyz, what does it mean to know your teammates have your back? How have you become a leader? What does it mean to have an older player for a mentor?" "How do you handle a loss and maintain focus for the next week?" "What does a week off between games mean for the health and preparation of this team?"
How about "Coach, it looked like you could have moved the pocket to protect the QB's all game and you didn't. Is that something we've practiced and if so, why was it not the right call tonight?" "Coach, I noticed that we didn't pull a guard or use an extra tight end on our run plays that were getting stuffed at the line. What was your reason for that?". "Coach, I noticed our RB's weren't chip blocking the defensive end and our QB was getting killed. What did you say to them on the sideline during the game about that?".
Can I be a reporter? If I was coach, I'd appreciate having someone with the balls to ask me a meaningful question.
I know, and it's strange to me. They won't ask it in a conference, but they will talk about him on the radio when he's not there to offer feedback. I remember Sherrill had a call in show that was interesting.Nobody asks those kinds of things. Not even pro team beat writers.
I think in 1996 one caller did this.I know, and it's strange to me. They won't ask it in a conference, but they will talk about him on the radio when he's not there to offer feedback. I remember Sherrill had a call in show that was interesting.
Because they want to keep their access. If you try and be a dick and ask questions like that after a loss you’re going to have less and less access to players and coaches. It’s easy for you to say you’d do that typing on your keyboard this morning but when it’s your job things change.I know, and it's strange to me. I agree it would be a dick move, but dammit I'd love to have Lebby answer those questions and more.Because they want to keep their access. “Does pick sixes count as wasted plays, coach?” Would be a good reply.2 questions were asked in the press conference that needed to asked
Q: You went with a lot of quarterback runs in the first half. Was that something you saw on film?
Lebby: I felt like it gave us some answers the way their defense is structured and they play with a heavy box. So having the ability to play 11 on 11 was something that was necessary. Depending on what the C-gap did, that was going to dictate whether we were handing the ball or pulling the ball. That way we had the ability to have hats in the run game.
Q: What does Blake Shapen provide at quarterback right now that warrants him still being the starter?
Lebby: It is his decision-making and having the ability to not waste a play. We knew we had to come in here and not play perfect but give ourselves a chance to not waste plays. That is the reality of it. No. 1 (KaMario Taylor) does some great things and we all understand what kind of player he is going to be. In a setting like this I don’t think it is fair to have him go play 75 snaps. Blake gives us the opportunity to not waste a play. Frustrated at both interceptions and both interceptions for touchdowns that end up in their hands and end up spotting them 14 points. That is a huge piece of the game.

Turnovers and an inconsistent offense spelled doom for Mississippi State on the road again Saturday with a loss at No. 22 Missouri.www.on3.com
After 2 years and 1 SEC win, someone needs to be a dick.Because they want to keep their access. It’s like Lebby doesn’t really want to win and talks like he thinks he is in a feeder alliance for other schools.“Does pick sixes count as wasted plays, coach?” Would be a good reply.
