I wonder how much better shape Sidney can get in

I'm starting to think that he might just be built in such a way as to make it nearly impossible for him to get in the kind of shape that will let him run up and down the floor for forty minutes. Also, I'm curious as to how much weight he could drop and still be effective. I don't know that much about the science of fitness or the individual differences in floors for weight and ceilings for stamina. Perhaps someone with knowledge can comment.

For the record, my opinion is that he's working as hard as he can. Show me how I'm wrong about that.

...just don't know that we will ever see a svelte Sidney. It might just not be in him. And while I have no problem with his effort last night, we will never know if he has given his weight training full effort. The only ones who do know are the coaches and Sidney himself.

no matter whatever talent he does or doesn't have. Just don't believe his body is built to withstand the rigors of an 82 game schedule.

What's crazy is Chad Ochocinco eats almost every meal at WacArnolds but is one of the most fit players in the NFL. Some people are just physical specimens. Sidney is not one of those.

Nobody that can play college basketball has some physical disability against getting in shape. Nobody.

I'm not saying he can get ripped like Terrell Owens. But he can get in shape. Fat 300 lb NFL linemen are in phenomenal shape.

How much better shape can he get in? Gameday is all the significant exercise he gets. Whatever that will do for a person it what Sidney will get.

He is an out-of-shape lazy slob and that won't change.

I could beat him right now in any kind of endurance or anaerobic contest that doesn't involve, err..shooting, dunking, or rebounding. :)

The dude will always have some extra fat on him, but there's no reason he cannot get in sufficient cardio shape to hustle up and down the court for 30+ minutes per night. Barkley did it, Shaq did it, even Tractor Traylor did it, although he recently died of a heart attack.

I am actually trying to stay postive with Sidney, but I don't understand why he isn't in "game shape" already. I thought he was running his *** off with John Lucas for most of the Summer? Granted, he appears to need to lose some weight and/or gain some leg strength, but from a stamina standpoint he should be good to go.

And, man, he sweats more than anyone I've ever seen.

Second, give a damn about being in shape and work hard to lose it and keep it off!

Wow. With all of the students in our fitness programs, I thought that somebody would have some actual knowledge to give to this topic. SOS. But thanks for playing.
