Out of curiousity, what about the video bothers you? I'm not saying there is no reason for you to dislike the video. I'm just wondering what it is that you don't like (besides the fact that it is an Ole Miss video).

That's a great video besides it's Ole miss. High quality.

I thought the hype video we did this week was really good as well.

It's not about the quality of the video. Although, given the homophobic scandal at OM, I find the choice of music ironic. But that is beside the point. The point is, is after a loss, where we were shutout by Alabama (or anyone else) and our athletic department produced a melodramatic video highlighting locker room footage of our coach talking about how "we closed the gap" and how "love will get us through" and soforth, and then filling the rest of the video with highlights from a different game that we won - yeah, I would be pissed.

Yeah. You closed the gap. Technically true. From 25 to 19. And shut out. Moral victory. Let's make a hype video. Pathetic.

Wow... I guess the thing to do would be to just throw in the towel and call the season a bust. Forget trying to motivate the players and the fan base.**

It's great reality TV. Nothing negative or shameful about it. They got whipped and honestly documented it. I pray one day you are livid with our athletic department because that is good ****.

I'll second that it is miles ahead of any videos we have done

We seriously, seriously lack in the video department. I purposely do NOT watch ours so I don't lose any hype that I might have.

The hell there isn't. Getting shut out by Alabama isn't shameful at all. Producing a hype video highlighting your coach touting how they closed the gap after a shutout is. It's effing sad. And if we ever did it. And I'm pretty sure the actual game did a good enough job documenting them getting whipped. its moral victory video, and its sad.

And i've been livid with our athletic department plenty. Fortunately, never for that.

Where was it implied that you shouldn't motivate the players? That's a ridiculous inference to make. But if our players and fanbase ever truly get motivated by how well the lost in comparison to the previous year on the heels of a shutout, then they are probably, well they are probably Ole Miss.

Well really that was just an aside, but did you HEAR the song?

I did. Matter of fact, I listened to it again just to make sure I hadn't missed any blatantly obvious connection which would tie your mentioning of the "homophobic scandal at OM" to the background music. Still am not seeing how either are relevant to each other.

Mullen said we are winning championships. It's coachspeech. Haven't you heard of it? Do you take everything so literally?

I pray to God that Bama only beats us by 25.

I'm with Vandaldawg...this is embarrassing...it's propaganda to the kool aid drinkers in Oxford too saying them, "we're gonna be alright y'all." How about after a loss, release a hype game for the upcoming game, not a hype game because we played well at certain points in the game and "love will pull us through."

The quality is fine, which is what I would expect from an SEC school, but the message or embarrassing. It's borderline everyone gets a trophy to me. Here you los,t but you played hard, so here's a video for you. Same thing in my opinion.

The quality of the video and the idea behind it are both fine with me. You can call it glorifying a moral victory all you want. I can't stand Freeze and still think this was a smart thing to do. He is motivating them to fight each game and each play until the last whistle. We needed a lot of that last year and whatever we were doing was not working at all. Once we lost to Bama and it was clear we weren't going to go out and win a championship it looked like our team had their lunch money taken by a bully. We simply didn't respond well.

It is called a hype video for a reason. We'll see if it actually works for OM.

On a side note, I still think that the Moral Victory sentiment is much more divisive for the fanbase than a team. If the team uses the fact that they hung with a better team to movtivate them for the next game, then bring on the moral victory coaches. Contrary to popular belief, not all coaching is yelling and screaming at the players when they screw up. I personally like that style but it isn't the entire package.

Sherlock...it's made by the university for fans of the university. Of course it has a pro-OM message.

Well really that was just an aside, but did you HEAR the song?

Please help us understand what about the song that is related to the recent drama at the UM drama
Is Portishead connected to LGBT causes?
Is dubstep somehow a "gay" music style?
Is combing the two into a remix pushing the needle too far?
Even though all the lyrics from the original song weren't used, there's nothing eye raising in them either.

What are we missing here?

What's the problem with catering to the kool aid drinkers? They are rallying the troops. I think it is a good job on their part.

I remember when Spurrier first went to SC and they lost a close game to Florida and everyone cheered at the effort, and Spurrier said post game that he doesn't want anyone cheering after a loss. That's not what they are doing here. They are showing the loss, how it affected the team, and how they are trying to put it behind them. Every coach in America says the stuff Freeze said after a loss. This one was just caught on camera. It's about them trying to sustain some level of momentum. I have no problem with it. I just hope they have to make more of these types of videos in the coming weeks.

Me too. I also pray to God that if they shut us out 30 to nothing, which is by no means a stretch, we don't put out a "hype video" celebrating us closing the gap. Hype video. That is a hype video like Terms of Endearment is a hype video.

We must have a different version of the video. I think this song is playing in the "other" version.
And the Ole Miss videos are the most well edited and put together ones you'll see for a college team.

I don't guess you understand that the video you keep mentioning is NOT a hype video. It's preview for the following episode of The Season which just got released. http://vimeo.com/76002167

Once again. It's NOT a hype video. It's a trailer/preview.

I had to watch it twice to see why it was such an "embarrassment." It was soppy, but certainly not shameful. As for "showing clips from a different game they won" unless they show clips from last year, there aren't any "different" games they lost.

I'm not a bear fan, though I'm married to one. Glad I don't despise them to the point I find fault where none exists.

I just don't live in denial I guess and wouldn't want our AD being in public denial I guess. Looking out on that field, they may have recruited a great class, but their was no "closing of the gap." They played Bama way better last year. Bama took 'em to the woodshed the other night. UM is like we were a couple years ago now. Let's see if they can rise to the occasion. It's a great opportunity with Auburn and ARK both down and us mediocre to above average.

The larger point.
I'm sorry but I'm still not understanding the issue with the song. Was there a different version? The song I heard had a slow start, but ended up being a dubstep remix of a Portishead song. Was that what you were hearing? If not what did you hear? If so what was the issue? Or PM me if it's inappropriate.

Not trying to be a punk, but trying to understand where you're coming from.
