They now have a month vacation to get ready for Oregon State, and then they can start packing their bags for Glendale. No way they should be in the Nat'l Championship game with that schedule. I'm sorry....

i wouldn't call them a victim of the conference system, but to be fair they have been trying to upgrade their schedule year in and year out, i remember them trying to schedule a few big schools but it simply not working out for them, and they ARE joining the MWC next year, which has probably been better than the big east or ACC as of late.<div>
</div><div>furthermore, conferences are regional. I'm sure if boise were in Arkansas they'd be in the SEC (and to be fair, the PAC-10 hasn't really shown interest in expanding west until recently), but as it stands your hypothetical situation sucks.</div>

in 04-05. Auburn got ripped for playing a weak non-conf OOC..3 games out of 12...the other 9 games (okay, maybe 7) were against the kind of teams that BSU played today or better...NINE...not one, not two....sheesh. Not being a BSU hater here, but reality is that BSU doesn't play week-in, week-out grinding schedule to deserve to walk into the NC game.<div>
</div><div>17 you, VaTech from the whole college football world!</div>

They say they deserve to play in the BCS title game if undefeated after a grueling WAC in-conference schedule. If they really want respect they should join a conference that has a little competition, either that or go independent.<div>
</div><div>I'll be sick if they somehow hijack the BCS Title game. </div>

I agree, but until we have an actual NCAA playoff, they will always be in the conversation for the title.

Alabama and Ohio ST lose one game each and one of those teams playing Texas or someone else other then BSU for the BCS championship but the AP naming BSU their National Champions like they did with USC. After all they got them number 3 now and they are going undefeated and it is very possible that Alabama and OSU could lose a game.

It's not easy to get the good OOC games when you're playing so well, which is why they're taking a buy game to play us in Oxford.

You know it's bad when you're a Top 10 team many years in a row and you're having to take a buy game with no return trip just to try to get someone on the schedule. No one wants to play them, especially at their place.

If they don't deserve to be there, then they'll be drubbed when they get there, if they do. Then you'll finally get your proof, and they'll go back to getting no respect.

As an aside, people act like the BCS schools go through a gauntlet. Yes, they go through a tougher conference and schedule than Boise has to do through, but Bama only beat 4 teams last year that finished in the Top 25 on their way to the BCS title game, with only 3 of those in the regular season. The mid-level schools they faced were tougher than Boise's, but it's not like Alabama had to beat a murderer's row to get to the title game.

Boise DESPERATELY wants to join a tougher conference. The arrogant pricks of the Pac-10 won't let them in, and neither will the Big 12-2, even though that conference has two gaps which BYU and Boise would fit nicely into.<div>
</div><div>Boise is moving to the Mountain West next year, which is probably on par with the Big East, but even that's not that big of a deal since those dicks at BYU 17ed them.</div><div>
</div><div>Boise has done everything it can to improve its schedule, offering one-time road games at anyone who will bite, and no one will. The reason they go 12-0 is because everyone is afraid to play them, and you can't blame them for that.</div>

The system sucks. I think that's been covered. The point is, you CAN have the best team in the country and be in a weak conference.

If you took Alabama's entire roster and staff last year and moved them to the WAC, would they still have been the best team in the country? Sure.

Would they get to play the tougher schedule? No.

A playoff is needed, because otherwise we won't know if Boise really is the Butler of college football, or if they're just pretenders that jump up and win a few tough games every so often.

They didn't get in the title game because they started out ranked lower than USC and Oklahoma.. and both USC and Oklahoma remained undefeated throughout the year, so they remained #1 and #2

all I read on this board was that there was no frikkin' way BSU was going to go on the road and beat a major conference opponent. Now that they did it, it's because the next few games on the schedule aren't tough, and if they were, then no frikkin' way would they have won.

C'mon, gimme a break.

I'd love to see Boise get a shot at Alabama or someone like that. I mean, are we really gonna get upset and cry foul if we don't get to see overrated Ohio State take it up the *** aGAIN this year?

Yeah, it'd be a more fair situation if there were an 8-team playoff, and Boise were one of those 8, and then they would have a chance to go through the playoff and prove themselves. But, we don't have that. So I hope they get their shot.
