How awesome would it be if Pope landed this guy? We would be able to give Indiana fans and Lamar Wilkerson a big laugh.

Jackson is one of the few guys out there I could get excited about.

Most of the guys out there, like Eaglestaff, are backups on our team.

I kind of feel like Pope has assembled a great team, and now he is looking for the “cherry on top” player to give a little boost and if he can’t land that guy he will finish up by adding another backup or a guy to compete with Chandler, Williams, and Johnson for the starting spot opposite Oweh on the wing.

I would be fine going into next season with the 12 guys we already have.

I personally like the idea of Chandler, Williams, and Johnson fighting for the wing spot. I think it would benefit all three in the end. Let those three split the minutes on the wing and see how it plays out.

I do want to land a stud, like Jackson, but adding a guy like Eaglestaff, I’m not sure that really helps us much and might hurt in the long run as it will limit the minutes for Chandler, Williams, and Johnson.

I would be really interested to see how much Florida spent on their title team...
Florida is a massive title outlier. Their coach totally went under the taser. UK isn’t going under any radars stacked roster or nit roster.

Be careful saying that, there’s a “crowd” that says you don’t know what we have in NIL to pay etc 🙄……..they get their panties in a wad cause they can’t use common sense.

But I agree, I don’t think we will pay what I’m sure is being offered for his talent.
UK has paid close to 8 million in Nil for this next year and top 3 on the list, and that was with Pope trying to be economical.

On On3, his NIL value is listed at 1.5m
I had read the IU offer to Wilkerson was 2.8m
I figured we had offered 2m to him. If the above is true, why not shoot our shot for Ian? Can't hurt.
That's way too much money for Wilkerson. He played at same Houston st

lol. its like you havent learned jack sh*t about how Pope recruits yet. zero % chance we even come in the top 3 for Jackson even if we tried for him, we wouldnt drop the bag, Jackson would want guaranteed minutes and shots and all of that is a no go for Pope . Its going to take a special mentality of team first for a star to land at UK
You don't KNOW any of what you just said is true. Pure speculation based on rumors and so called common sense. You are qualified to be an "insider" now.

I have a feeling we will nab a player nobody expected who may have nit even entered yet or not talked about much. I doubt we get Jackson but that’s exactly the kind of commitment that would come outta nowhere from this staff.
Yup prolly gonna be someone after portal closes….grad transfer or nba draft dropout

We have boosters that would absolutely pony up , but Pope is using NIL like a screening test and if they accept less to be here then thats who Pope wants. Some seem to think JMI is still being a huge problem with getting the extra up front NIL
I must have missed the interview where Pope said all of this...Oh wait, he didn't! You made it all up.

Just read that the three shooters that Pope should try and get now are 1) Cade Tyson, said not to look at his numbers from last season, that he shot three's at a very high clip, 47%?, at Belmont and only played 7 minutes a game at NC. 2) Marcus Banks that shot about 42% from three at 8 attempts per game. Said that was really good and also shot a high percentage of his two's and averaged almost 17 a game.
3) Treyson Eaglestaff, said that his shot selection at UK would be much better and he wouldn't have to carry the team but is a proven shooter.

Let’s seal the deal and make him a Wildcat. The kid can flat out play and will be a NBA player in the near future.
Side note. There s a kid, Paul McMillan IV, still available that is a straight bucket getter. Only shot 33% from 3 this season, but he was a Top 20 scorer in D1. I watched him play all through high school and he can go.
Now this would put us directly into title contention!

Many may not have heard of Markus Banks, JR. He is a 6-3 195 guard that shot 42.5 from three, about 85 from the line and about 2 assists a game. Have not saw his video's but his numbers are good. He is from Virginia so not far from his hometown.
