Probably the best 3A team since going to 8 classes...the 16 IC team against the 14 Wilmo team would have been interesting, since Wilmo had 4 all-staters on the roster so they might have sufficient speed to catch up...and better balance on offense...Weaver was the no. 4 wing on that team...

IMO the '14 Wilmo team was not the best product Reents has put on the field. Best result, yes. Best overall team, no.

It's always hard to say what team is the best ever and there is so much that goes into the discussion. '90 to '16 is a huge gap. Athletes and the game change and evolve so much. Either way though, it is hard to argue against a team that won 3a when there were only 6 classes.

2016 IC was better team than your Althoff team. I don’t care how many beers you guzzled or how much strange you got into.
Mute point. These teams never would have met even with a time machine as they would have been in different classes. Althoff would have been 4 or 5A in an 8 class setup and IC would have been 2A in the old 6 class. Oh well! I was just about to jump on the Althoff wagon

Point may be moot, but it’s fun to compare.

People act like IC is some small school miracle...they seem to forget that they put up 63 on St. Laurence in 2016 (63-49 week 2) when St. Laurence went to the semis in 6A...
That was an unbelievable game. Traded punches until it was 49-49. IC goes up 56-49, and, since nobody could stop anybody, IC onside kicks, and Rowell recovers. Ballgame.
