Well the Morris kids were complete class acts. There was an extreme amount of jawing back and forth between the Coaler kids and the Morris kids all summer leading up but once the game was over there was a lot of handshakes and bro hugs between them. Both gained and earned each others respect. Have never really seen Morris players act any different any other year either

That would give Kaneland a shot at a share of conference title. I really hope they give them a game. I need games to look forward to for the rest of the season.. Was looking forward to Rochelle but was quite surprised at that outcome. After the first qtr it's not even exciting to watch and you start feeling bad for the other team. Next week , Plano.... Wouldn't be surprised if they forfeit. Sandwich and Rochelle both cancelled JV games on us. We were able to luckily find games on 1 or 2 day notice. JV drove out to Taft last Monday, and this Monday they got Plainfield North coming out on 1 day notice. Plano, LaSalle Perú, Ottawa, and Morris left on the schedule. From what I'm seeing and hearing, the only game I got to look forward to is Morris. I've come to really respect those schools that schedule tough non con games to start the season. You need those tough games, win or lose, under your belt come play off time.

Not sure how the score stayed so close on that one but after us playing 3 out of the top 4 teams the last three weeks I personally think it has the potential to be a good game which I think Kaneland will win when it’s all said and done but those boys (line) are big and pretty darn athletic
Morris fresh team last year was pretty darn good last year.. Beat our fresh like 56-0. We were without our starting QB. My son, who is WR, had to step up and play QB. 3rd play of game he got his hand stepped on and the trainers held him out fearing he had a fracture. So game was pretty much over after that. Thank God for running clocks. Morris has good numbers. More than some bigger schools. Tradition does that.
I hope your right. I honestly think Rochelle gave up against us. I didn't get that feeling with Sandwich. They played tough and never quit right thru to the end. The only time Rochelle looked like they wanted to be there was when the JV came in. Sandwich 28 Rochelle 14.
You are the one that has a history of taking shots at Herscher, this is just another example with your stupid 8 man football comment.. So I was just pointing out that Herscher has had more recent success than your beloved .. just a down cycle in our boys athletics right now, basketball and baseball also struggled even though they both have HOF coaches..

Nope. He took his cheap shot, he knows I am right with my reply so its over.. They have great football and baseball teams this, I have a feeling this year they rid themselves of not living up to expectations in both and win a state title in one of them.

It wasn't a shot, just a simple question., You are always on here making the claim that they don't have the numbers, falling enrollment. But whatever helps you sleep at night. I'm not going to entertain this conversation anymore. Just make sure you have my $100 if Herscher doesn't make the playoffs next season
Well this year they clearly don't have the numbers because 7 or 8 seniors decided to not play (and a junior class that only has I think 12 kids playing), its a one year thing and a big deal for a 3A school.. I think overall, their numbers are comparable to schools like Peotone and Lisle (also 3A)... the days of having 80 kids in the program are over, now if get 50-60 that's fine.
Maybe the bigger problem is that powerhouse Coal City is in a conference they don't belong in, playing programs that should be playing 8 man football... Is it possible you guys make a conference change considering how much better you are???
Wouldn't call CC a powerhouse just yet. Wilmo is right there with them then if so. They are 5-3 against CC their last 8 meetings. Went back ten years but we missed two years because of the stupid split conference.

I have had almost every coach on most staffs at my house for a get together so you are speaking about a topic that you have no clue about. I do know one thing the CC football coaches always text me laughing about you being a jackass on all the forums. You asked a question if a 3A school that was in the semifinals last year (and quarterfinals the two prior years in 4A)would consider going 8 man.. do you really not see how stupid and insulting that is to our program?

Ok, maybe I took it the wrong way... And a LOT of schools are having a hard time keeping numbers up.. Clifton Central has 38 in their program and they are the top ranked team in 2A.. Bishop Mac, Peotone, Lisle, Manteno and Herscher are all programs with low numbers (except for Mac, all good soccer schools)..
And last part was not a threat at all, a statement that it needs to stay out of here.. that was a few years ago and from what I heard, your coaches took care of it inhouse so good for them..
I got a great idea , how about coal city And Sandwich Switch conferences . Coal city could totally compete with these guys And then the Morris coal city rivalry game would be secured for years to come
Well not quite everyone knows where you live, but technically I live in Diamond (not Coal City). But it must be near the High School, which means you probably have some interesting stories of our last tornado (hopefully no real bad stories).
My physical therapist has a son who was supposedly a stud on last year's CC team and now plays college ball (DB and/or WR I think) and their house was mostly destroyed in the last tornado, even their foundation had to be replaced.
I enjoy the success that both Coal City and Wilmington have had with their football programs. I have watched several Wilmington games over the years and have met most of the Wilmington coaches but I can't remember having attended a Coal City game in person.
One of your Inside LB's is named Pullara (-sp), would his father's name be Pete(r) and maybe a dentist by any chance? If so, he was a friend, teammate and classmate of mine at Joliet Catholic.
All the Coal City and Wilmington posters on here seem very knowledgeable about football.
