1) If the fans ring the bells between the time the ball is made ready for play by an official and the snap, the fine is equal to the amount Mississippi State receives from the SEC's football television contracts, bowl game payouts and SEC Championship Game.<div>
</div><div>2) If a fan is caught ringing a cowbell during that timeframe, the fan is ejected from Davis-Wade Stadium.</div><div>
</div><div>3) If fans ring cowbells during that interval, allow the referee to suspend the game per 9-3-3-c: "an obviously unfair act not specifically covered by the rules..." Suspend the game until ringing ceases. Or just assess a 15-yard penalty.</div><div>
</div><div>I think State fans will ring their bells in excitement over a score, first down, sack, interception, etc. and I see no reason why that should change. I'm betting that it's simply while the ball is ready for play that they care about. And if our fans are too stupid to compromise and take advantage of a chance to maintain our tradition, then we deserve anything the SEC does to us.</div>
