I think Barker saw quite a few real "bullets" flying against Vandy and they were none too pretty..much like what we saw tonight. Towles has been pretty terrible as of late, but some of these people on here acting like Barker is Tom Brady after he's looked even worse than Towles the time that he's been out there just go to show that once someone gets an idea in their mind it's hard to convince them otherwise. They're the same people that wanted Barker to be the starter since the beginning of last season, and nothing is going to convince them otherwise, no matter how poorly he plays going 15 of 29 for a buck twenty and zero TD's against Charlotte. Come on.
1. Drew was 5-8 with 1TD and 1 Int vs. Vandy. He didn't look atrocious at all. (Towles was 10-26 with 0 TD and 1 Int vs. the same Vandy team).
2. Drew didn't show much vs. Charlotte I'll agree...but UK was ripping off huge rushes that really never was a chance to throw is a bunch. Drew had one very bad pass that should have been an Int...but other than that, really never threw in harms way. I'll concede many of his completions were the 5 yard out patterns and passes to RB...but he did hit Juice/Badet on some solid intermediate routes for first downs.
Again, I didn't see anything that I would declare Drew as the answer to UK's problems...but he's not crapped the bed as Towles has done most of the last handful of games either. And to be fair, when you're playing as bad as UK has, other guys lose their jobs do...Cody Quinn, Ryan Flannigan, Marcus McWilson, have lost snaps to other players. And if we had any OL depth...I'm also positive there would be different faces there as well. It isn't that big of a deal that Drew is taking snaps in place of Pat right now.
