If Eddie Gran is the new OC, what is your outlook going into next year?

Yeah, kind of a weird take. Kirby Smart has never coached a game, nor has Mizzou's ..... You have to have some sort of sample size before making that type of conclusion. Muschamp? Not completely "sold" that he outclasses UK s staff, either.
Really!!?? did you not watch MS and his staff against Otis? He and his minions all looked lost after we went up 21 .-7...Had a potential for 42 first half pts...he can change all the staff he wants , but it will not fix that he is in way over his head

cautiously optimistic. let's see how the offensive staff fills out though.

i think we will be better prepared going into games schematically, but the players still have to be coached up on technique and assignments by position coaches.

for me, this past season has almost been the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back . . . and I am in the camp that thinks poor coaching, particularly in-game but also player development, cost us more than the kids . . . with that being said, everything I have read and heard about Gran is extremely positive . . . if he is available, I am not sure why we didn't hire him over Dawson (shoulda coulda hired Riley) . . . I think the experience he can bring may be as important as anything he would do as OC . . . I think he would be a great hire!!! GBB
Things I saw that pointed to a bad oc..
Creating mismatches.. Shifts to get wr on lb. Conrad on safetys off playaction.

Quick routes, stop routes, timing routes to help our ol. In other words quick throws getting the ball to playmakers in space, with an occasional shot deep.
In game adjustments. Poor playcalling. (if it would have worked I would be a genius). Lack of execution blocking/droppes/blitz pickup ect.
Player development. The more games we played the worse our offense preformed. Now Dawson may do great at another school, but I think. he was a bad fit here for us his first year. Think if he has a hc that has a strong disciplined team with experience he could do good.. We need a oc with discipline and accountability that understands what buttons to push what adjustments to make and how to get a unit to play as a team and not just for themselves..

On paper this year's schedule appeared much more difficult in Aug than it does now, I don't see much difference honestly. No reason we can't beat USE or Mizzu. Beat UL and Vandy and everything works out in the end.

If you are considering class, as in class act, Muschamp is at the bottom of the barrel to me.

I'm not sure many of our fans realize what a huge deficit in raw talent UK has faced for decades, I think my research on Florida in 2010 having BOTH the O and D for BOTH the first and second teams AVERAGE over a four star as recruits (not just a four star, but a FIVE POINT NINE four star) is an unbelievable (except it was true) FACT.

Meanwhile UK started more TWO STARS than three stars for that game, with only two four stars (both JCs) playing, but also with two walkons starting. I would hate to rate our 2nd team for that game.

Stoops is doing an unbelievable job with upgrading our talent, I think experience (and some changes) will upgrade our coaches ability (as well as the players) but I don't think his work at UK is done yet.

I think our recruiting with this staff will take a big jump as soon as we start winning a few games, we need the huge upgrade in our OL talent that is coming, we have enough changes in the coaches for me for now..
