The only way Saban ever coaches here was in 1998, but Husker Nation would have rioted had he got the job over Frank.

Not to beat a long-decomposed horse, but I don't think the majority of the fan base was determined to see Frank get the job.

No kidding, but that post only reminds us most posters on this board were either too young to remember 1998 -- or not yet born.

Aha, I see where you are going here. To quote office space:
"You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor... and would have different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO"
Get off the mat, Charles, and move it along please.

Will Nick Saban go down as the greatest coach ever at the end of his career or just the greatest Alabama coach ever?

(On ESPN radio this morning they were talking about this and said that some Alabama fans think he will end up better than the Bear.)

If Saban ever would have taken a job here, he would not have stayed here (see Baton Rouge). If Chris Petersen would have taken a job here, he would not still be here. I am not speculating that either one of them would have been hired here; I am just saying that the Milk and Honey belief that Saban would still be here 20 years later is silly. We are where are.
