Let's say he puts the first couple of guys on base. Do you let him try and work out of it or do you have a quick hook?

Then we sign over the land rights of Starkville, MS to the Choctaw Indian reservation.

Let him work out of it. If he gives up a lead, Bracewell.

If there are two outs and a lefty is up, bring in Ross Mitchell to finish.

I think you gotta let him work out of it. If he's wild, I'll be pissed. That's beating ourselves, which is the one thing I can't stand. But if he's throwing strikes and they come back, then they deserve to win. I want to make them beat my best guy to win, and Holder is our best guy.

Exactly. I'd start Bracewell or Mitchell with a quick hook to Holder. There are few instances where sports allow for a true 50/50 split on a topic, but this seems like one of them. I'd imagine we'll start Holder, but I would like to use a set up guy.

I guess it should be noted that we are at bat in the bottom of the 7th. It's not like Holder will be asked to walk straight out to the mound. He could begin to get lose once the game resumes, and it wouldn't be too far out of his normal routine. I just don't want Holder thinking about taking the mound today at lunch, today at 2pm, during warms ups, etc. I'd rather him just get out there and get to work after he tosses 10 pitches in the bullpen.

If we start Holder, there is basically no point that I pull him. Only if he were to blow up and lose the lead with no end in sight. It's all on him.

That's what we seem

to be missing. We've got 9 outs left. They've got six. With how we've handled their pitching, to this point, I feel very good about getting at least one more run at some point.

NO WAY! For 6 outs to Omaha and a VERY fresh Holder I put him in and ride the big dog! And there is no reason to burn Pollo or Bracewell in this game. They would be needed for the 3rd game if for some reason Holder doesn't hold the lead and we lose Game 2.

Unless he is walking runners in he's my guy. Even if a couple runners get on base, he's our best chance to get out of those situations with the strikeout potential.

And the one pitcher we haven't absolutely had our way with is their closer. Might be a better deal for us to face someone else in the bottom of the 7th today than to face him in the bottom of the 7th last night.

Right - if he's walking guys then we have to have the quick hook. Just no choice.

Trust me the coaches will know if he's got the good stuff or not and if he doesn't then we pull him and go with Mitchell or Bracewell. Guys have off days and I don't want to risk Omaha, even if it means pulilng Holder.
