he'll be 2nd all-time only behind Coach K. (And he will have done it in less years than all but Dean Smith).

Even if we just average 20 wins he'll move ahead of Bob Knight in 6 years.

So which of the following is your assumption Boeheim? He is retiring, or won't win any more games?

JB turns 72 this year. I don't see him coaching more than one or two years. You are right, Huggs will have to coach for one more year for every year JB keeps coaching to end up 2nd. Worst case scenario if Huggs keeps coaching 6 more years our coach will be #3 all time.

Thats amazing. I hope his liver makes it that long.

I saw an interview with Boeheim a few years back, and they asked him if anyone else could reach a certain milestone (maybe 900 wins?) and he said Huggins had the best chance.

That's not an exact quote, just from memory.

Here's the question I want ask, will the so called experts who vote for Basketball HOF ever put Huggins in?

If so, how many more wins will it take?

Dick Vitale-big mouth announcer who was a lousy coach at both the college and pro levels-is in and not as an announcer, but in just like Every other inductee.

Yet Bob Huggins who has had what 2 losing seasons and averages 23+ wins/year in his career and has coached 2 different schools to the Final 4 and has darn near 800 wins STILL HASNT GOTTEN in.

I don't follow college basketball that closely til after Presidents Day (washingtons birthday - feb 22) and this is just another good reason why!

lol

A) Huggs is a first-ballot HoF'er........ and as Fran said last night during the game, he's likely to get in while he's still an active coach

B) Vitale was not a bad coach.................... he just didn't coach long. He took Detroit Mercy to a Sweet 16 and scored an NBA gig (short lived) out of it. That Pistons roster he was given was gutted at the trade deadline and he was left to coach onions.

C) Vitale is in as an announcer, bro...

Boeheim is 72 and Huggins is 62 and people don't think Huggins will coach 5 more years? Lol

I can definitely see Huggins coaching at WVU at the same age as Boeheim now.

LowFat...............you need to learn to listen to KC. He gets his dope first hand and ain't into making things up just to hear his head rattle.

He's a decent poster.... ...but sometimes I just picture the person advertising Spanish Fly in the back of late 70's porn mags.

The point is, Huggs isn't a young 62, Boeheim actually looks younger than Bob. I don't see Huggs as a coach that hangs on longer than he should. I see him going 3 more seasons, getting around 850 total wins and then wrapping up a great career.
