If I would have had an extra $180,000 last December

Cameron Newton would be in Maroon and White right now.

If you say different then I'm a bigger fan than you are, pure and simple..

I guess you are a bigger fan because I would have paid off my house and my car. Just me I guess.

I would only want to win fairly. If you are willing to cheat on a test to get a higher score than me, it doesn't mean you're more of a student or care about college more than me.

I don't think I would have. And yeah, I'm playing ethics police here. The good of having a player that may have helped you win a few more games, even a national championship, does not outweigh the potential damage you could do to program and the university. That extra $180m check would be better served if written to the Bulldog Club, the foundation, whatever.

I wouldn't jeopardize MSU that way. Call ******** all you want, but I honestly wouldn't do it.

but this also makes me wonder how the Auburn locker room is now that this is their front & center news. Me-thinks that is one helluva divided locker room today.

I don't care if I could crap hundred dollar bills, I'm not giving a nickel to any 18 year old POS or his shady father looking for a quick buck unless it's going towards an education.

That being said, I don't care if you feel the need - just don't get caught. I'll enjoy the extra wins at your expense in the comfort of my own naivety.

simply because Kevin Fant forgot his 17ing wallet at the tire store and we paid for a hotel for our players (I am not even close to knowing what exactly the allegations were but I know they were minor).

What do you think the NCAA would've done to us for 180k?

And let's face it, they were front and center news already. They are #2 in the country with a Heisman frontrunner at QB.

Nobody has proven Auburn did anything. Who the players gonna believe? The media or their own teammate?

From a business standpoint, it's a no brainer. What value would you place on the attention AU and Newton received with the undefeated season and Heisman talk? A helluva lot more than 180k or 200k. They damn sure didn't count on this thing blowing up like it did. Cost of doing business I guess.

$180,000.00 isnt squat in the grand scheme of things. If Mullen/Byrne wanted to play the game, the money would have been no problem.

Why pay that kind of money to someone with their hands out in all directions who hasn't done anything yet? It's much more logical to take care of a player little by little... AFTER they've come to your school and AFTER they've shown that they are dedicated to the program. I highly doubt we always play it safe, but I'm glad we did this time.

No it wouldn't mean your a bigger fan than me......it would just mean your piece of crap just like kenny rodger's is. Some people with money could absolutely ruin our football program, and you are one of them.

I hope Vick Ballard isn't being paid for each touchdown. That is going to be an expensive check.
