Indiana has 26 wins combined in 2025 and 2024

Nebraaka has 26 wins combined in 2025, 2024, 2023 2022 and 2021.
Is anybody debating or doubting that Indiana has been better than Nebraska post-Covid? Before anybody had ever googled Cignetti, while they were still historic losers, Indiana with Penix Jr kicked Frost’s *** with pleasure.

Definitely a very good team but even if they win the National Title, their overall schedule this year wasn't very daunting. Oregon was really the only team they beat in the regular season that was considered a quality team. Their non-conference was pathetic. They struggled with Iowa, PSU and Ohio State. Beat an average Alabama team and then Oregon again.

I hope they destroy Miami but even if they do, I'm not sure they're at the top all time. Top ten maybe but not top 5. JMO.

We played Indiana in 2019 and lost 38-31 But penix wasn’t the QB Payton Ramsey was.We then played Indiana in 2021 and beat Indiana 35-21

I have mad respect for what Bill Snyder did at Kansas State. That was the losingest program in college football history and he took them to the precipice of almost winning a National Title.

What Cignetti is doing however, is even more impressive. 26-2 the last 2 years with losses only to Ohio State and Notre Dame that both played in last years National Title game.

This is a complete team, built in 2 years from ground zero. Yes, they have taken a number of players via the portal, but this still is not a team of all stars like an Ohio State or Georgia. This team is mostly made up of 3* type kids that play their asses off.

Miami will have more future NFL players on their roster than Indiana when they play for it all. And Indiana is favored by 7.5 points.

What the hell does that have to do with being considered one of the best all time college football team?🤪

Bad take.

People spew all sorts of bull$h!t on these forums. I'm just part of the crowd.

IU has been well-documented on their rise. That's great but it's still a Nebraska forum. It shows how far Nebraska has fallen and Nebraska is getting worse - not better.

Indiana average age is 23.2 years of age. The average age for CFB is 21.7 years old age.

This Indiana team isn’t the norm being 2.5 years older than the rest.
You want to compare Nebraska, well you better compare everyone else too.

I think that game comes down to QBs, as many games do. Officiating will play a huge role as well. The amount of uncalled holding by the O lines and DBs was amazing last night

as one of the best college FB teams of all time IMO.

And Cignetti is the king of the unicorns.
I think it’s safe to say they will go down as the oldest and that may not be broken with COVID extra year players moving out. Average age of 23.

Good point. It seems like Nebraska has had the youngest team in the Big 10 for about the last 10 years. 75 FR and SO is great with no transfer portal.

They needed a miracle catch in the closing seconds to beat PSU and Iowa had them in a position to win until the late TD pass to Sarrat. They are definitely a very good team and peaking at the right time (along with Miami). I really think we need to not overlook Miami as they throttled Ohio St and beat a good Ole Miss team while playing a subpar game. The playoff has done a good job putting the best two teams into the title game. In my opinion the 1995 Nebraska team (being objective) is the most dominant team in CFB history, followed by the 2001 Canes, 2020 Alabama, 2019 LSU, and 2018 Clemson. I'd make room for 2025 Indiana depending how how they finish out the season.

And who have you beat, nobody. In fact, aren’t you one of the few Big Ten teams to lose a bowl game. You are not relevant in college football.

Definitely the best coaching job of all time. They would be the only team since Nebraska that won despite having few blue chip recruits.
I’ll say it again Bill Snyder turned a terrIble program into a contender without the benefit of the transfer portal and nil . Let’s see what cignatte does long term, he might bolt to the pro because of his ego

Derp, they beat Ohio State, blew out Alabama and Oregon twice,(traveling across the US and beating Oregon by double digits at home is VERY impressive), the only game that was really in danger was PSU, in happy valley against a team that wouldn't lose another game the entire year. I mean statistically, the 95 Nebraska team was pretty similar, but Indiana would have to beat Miami by 30-40 to even be considered. You have to win the national title game in a rout to be considered the greatest ever.

I would probably also disqualify Indiana from being greatest ever just because the sport is so watered down and terrible right now due to transfers and lack of depth. Oregon hardly had any running backs because of the transfer portal and had some very awkward vibes. The playoffs are awesome and have nothing to do with NIL and the transfer portal but the overall quality of the sport is ***. A few injuries or transfers or a coach leaving while in the playoffs :( really weakens the competition. Even Miami, lost to TWO average teams have a chance to steal a national title. Crazy.

Who the hell said anything about who "we" beat and what's that have to do with this discussion?

BTW, fully aware Nebraska has sucked for a long time. Plus I truly hope Indiana destroys Miami.

If Cignetti knew how easy it was gonna be to dog walk every other major program in college football, he would’ve done it 10 years ago.

I'm fine with uncalled holding and PI, it is up to the teams to feel out the refs just like a pitcher used to expand the corners to figure out the strike zone. It is inconsistency that is bad. All players know how to hold and commit PI so one team doesn't really have an advantage in such scenarios. When there are holding or PI on every series though it impacts the flow and quality of the game. I really wish holding was just jersey tugging, something easy and not hooking and taking guys down. If you can take somebody down without pulling on their jersey, I think that should be legal,
