If M Vick does the same thing with mice or rats, does it even matter?

There are rat fights? There's a big difference between pets and pests. And even when rats are exterminated, it is done in a "humane" way.
I thought it was conspiracy, interstate commerce, etc. not the actual killing of dogs.
Vick got a pretty fair sentence I think. I'm ok with him doing two years for what he did, even though I find it pretty heinous. Others serve less time for worse crimes.

I had these dogs one time invade my house, and they destroyed all of the walls and foundation either through breeding or their poop creating mold. They also spread disease to everyone in my neighborhood and they all died, plague style. I survived because I am Omega Man.

I am assuming you meant to reply to me, rather than yourself. No, I don't totally base my morality on what is legal. However, that does play a role in my decisions. For example, if I enjoy casino gambling I might go to Tunica or Biloxi and have some fun. However, if I find out that someone is running a casino out of a farmhouse on their land, then I would be reluctant to go. The reason is that if the cops find out, we will all go to jail. One is legal and the other isn't.
Believe it or not, but avoiding prison time is a goal of mine. Just like not catching AIDS, not getting run over by a train, not getting shot by a crook, or cutting my hand off with a chainsaw. Whether or not something is legal does enter my mind.

if a dog has rabies, or is aggressive to children/adults it is usually put down, is it not?

Ok, I am not arguing what plays a role in your decisions. Obviously people don't want to go to jail.
So, I agree, I guess with all you say above...I don't want to go to jail either, as would no sane person. And I would not want to make decisions that harm me.

Exterminators kill rats all the time. People also kill dogs all the time. Vets euthanize them. Country guys take Fido back in the woods when he's 15 and can't walk, and they put a bullet in him. There are perfectly humane ways to kill animals. And then there's vermin like Michael Vick who torture dogs to death, throw family pets into a den of aggressive pit bulls, hang dogs up by a rope and beat them to death, and drown dogs in swimming pulls while they beg for breath. I wouldn't even support doing to a rat what Michael Vick did to dogs. I'm not sure if it's legal or not. But it CERTAINLY would be barbaric. All animals deserve some degree of humanitarian respect. Anybody who goes out of their way to ensure any kind of animal experiences as much pain as possible is a sick, sick individual.

How many billions of moles, rabbits, mice, rats, birds, lizards, etc etc die in the harvesting of vegetables for vegetarians every year. Vegetarians are idiots if they don't think they are killing living creatures for their veggies. Idiots. The Rats of Nimh is a good movie for vegetarians.
