Is your most realistic option to replace the guy? I'm not jumping off his bandwagon yet, but he did have close to 8 months to prepare for Rider and well we weren't prepared.

I hate the fact that Stansbury has become such a polarizing figure. He doesn't deserve it.

There seems to be huge division between the Stansbury haters and the Stansbury lovers; the people for Coach34 and the people against Coach34. Just curious as to who the replacement would or could be. Simple question.

serious ?

maybe it takes time for someone to assert themselves as the leader besides Varnardo on this team.
If you think it is Barry, then maybe you want to check his stats.
If it is not Barry it is going to take a while of proving it before Stansbury sits a guy that has been with him 4 years and done everything he asked and STFU unlike a lot of players that moved on and stayed to complain about 15 minutes

Stansbury always stands by Stansbury guys
Kodi, doesn't seem to be a Stansbury guy... talented or not

The guy has been our HC for a decade, there is nothing wrong with wondering whom we could get to replace him. I'm curious b/c my allegiance is to the program not to a single coach or player.

Also, I hope Kodi starts this week, I don't think he said anything that some of us weren't already thinking.

Kodi should be kicked off the team and coach should be banned just so we don't have to listen to his **** for the next five months

thought we had a chance. With our talent, it should have been a possibility...And it damn well shouldnt be Rider beating us- Missouri we would understand...

The Stansbury people always want to say - "if we had a football coach that did what Stansbury did, we would build a statue for him"

If we had a football coach that competed for the SEC title every year, but lost to Middle Tenn State, Houston, La Tech, Murray State- people would be wanting to kill him for losing to such ******** teams. Thats the difference in football and basketball- SEC football is tops in the country. Stansbury is winning in a 5th rate conference. If SEC basketball was as tough as SEC football, Stansbury would have been fired years ago.

Its no accident he keeps losing outside the conference and is 51-82 vs top 50 rated teams...51-82 vs top 50 rated teams- what cant people understand about that? It means the SEC is not filled with top 50 rated teams

I expect them to win everytime the go on the floor.

I don't post threads asking who we could hire to replace Stansbury because he loses one game.
I do feel like everyone is replaceable so He could lose his job.

You can say we go outcoach and all this stuff. I wasn't there I don't know if we did or didn't

I know they were 10-16 from 3 and had 6 turnovers on the road at the first game of an SEC opener, while only have 7600 people there.
I know we had players on the bench upset cause they didn't get minutes, while we were 10-27 from 3 and got outrebounded 36-34

The season is not over cause we got beat one time.
We are 0-1

It was disappointing to watch our team implode and lose alot of confidence last Friday night. I agree it's ok to ***** about Stans without wanting him fired and I'm not saying I want him fired at all. It's just hard for me to understand how a Top 20 team can look so unprepared for its 1st game of the season. That falls on one person=Stans.

this is a message board and they allow that type stuff. I was at the game and we got out-coached, out-hustled, and it honeslty looked Rider cared more with the exception of Phil Turner and Dee Bost. I was honestly just curious as to what coach we could possibly attract to MSU if Stans doesn't work out.

This is what will happen.........again
1. lose a few more ooc games
2. get to sec play and win....alot
3. go deep in the sec tourney
4. get a #8-10 seed in the dance
5. get put out in the first round

We HAVE to win our ooc games. Stans does not understand that.

But, when the day comes that we do replace Stansbury, I hope we have a competent AD and search committee. I would like to see us get a coach from somewhere in the country where they truly know how to develop BASKETBALL players. You know, someone with ties to the ACC, The Big East, or even Kansas. I think the SEC is full of coaches who recruit phenomenal athletes yet simply rely on them to play streetball and just out-talent the opposition. This failure to actually coach and make players better within the context of a system rears its head come NCAA tournament time. I am not just throwing stones at Rick despite his dismal track record in the Big Dance. I am including guys like that attention ***** Bruce Pearl at Tennessee, the most overrated guy I can think of in many a moon.

whether it is 5th rate or 1st rate he wins in the SEC. Your bar is simply too high for Stansbury.

To answer the question, we'd get whoever was "hot" from a mid major during tourney time, for better or for worse. So we'd end up w/ a disaster like Stan Heath or John Pelphrey, or get lucky and get a Bruce Pearl

But what Coach says is ridiculous, losing OOC games in basketball compared to football is a completely different deal. With 15 or so OOC games, even the top notch teams will drop a game to someone they're not supposed to from time to time. As long as we lose 3-4 or less, which will be the case, all that will matter is what we do in conference play. Where we finish in the SEC and our league record as well as how we do against the top tier OOC teams will determine our RPI and tourney seed. The SEC also hasn't been a "5th rate" conference during the entirety of Stans tenure, just the last two years. In the last 15 years, the ACC leads the nation w/ 13 final 4 participants, while the SEC in second w/ 12 (hardly "5th" rate) Since 96, 11 of the 12 SEC teams have made the Sweet 16, no other conference comes close to that kind of depth. Coach basically just throws **** against the wall to see what will stick and to see who will just take his word for things instead of having a mind of their own.
"The SEC... Where only a 2 year old wouldn't remember the SEC being a good basketball conference"

Fact- In the last 10 seasons, the SEC is 5th in Sweet 16's and FF's

Fact- Stansbury is 51-82 vs top 50 rated teams

Fact- Stansbury is 17-44 vs top 25 rated teams

Fact- Stansbury wins 60+% of his games, so if he is 51-82 vs the top 50- it means he is just beating ****** teams

Fact- since 1997, only 2 teams havent made a Sweet 16- and we are one of them
