****, I thought they had a good chance at 5-0 before they got the convict- now, I think 5-0 is pretty likely

Just adding Masoli isn't suddenly going to make that Crxxm-tastic offense a good one.

I think so. Say they drop one of their first five. I would say they beat tennessee and certainly louisiana-lafayette. If not, they still have a chance to pick up one victory from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and us. I think they can win one of those (not alabama).

What I meant to say: We don't have an instate rival. Tuscaloosa is in alabama.

Kentucky is not going to be very good...no way they go into that pit of a stadium and beat Mississippi this year

Fresno may be able to give them some fits, but they will also have problems dealing with the Mississippi front 7

I think they go 5-0 fairly easy

Kentucky is going to be better than people give them credit for. And Fresno is going to be sky high, as always, when playing a BCS league team. They'll **** the bed a couple of times a year in conference, but they'll play lights out against a BCS team. And even with Masoli, I just don't see any talent around him. Their OL was mediocre last year and will be worse this year. Their RBs have potential, but after two years in the program have been disappointments so far. And they've got **** for WRs. Masoli's going to have a huge adjustment with both the offensive scheme and the huge difference in talent level surrounding him.

They will lose to either Fresno of UK, probably both. Masoli will be running for his life with that O-Line. Main reason Snead bolted for not getting drafted and now cut from team.

I don't understand how lucky they are with their schedule. The OOC games are jokes, and theythe two weakestteamsfrom the East and a third in shambles (Tenn). You can't get any luckier than that...

I've seen a couple preseason SEC WestOL rankings, and they have MSU's and OM's lines rated right near each other. Then I come here and read about how MSU's OL is one of the best in the league, and OM's is so craptastic it's a joke. Do you know anything about their OL, or are you just towing the party line?

or any unluckier than MSU. We play WV when they have their best team in decades, play GT when they have their best team, Houston with best QB in years, Florida in their hayday. Should I go on? BTW you can bet USC will win the east next year because they come on our schedule.

We added Texas Tech and played them right at the start of the Leach years when they started getting good. We added Wake Forest, the Vandy of the ACC, and in the years we played them, they won something like 18 games and an ACC title. We added Missouri right when they started the Chase Daniel era. They weren't as good before or since.

So, we deserve a little bit of a good break in scheduling.

Not because Ole Miss isn't as good as anyone in the first 5 games, but because it always seems that Ole Miss loses a game they have no business in losing when you look at it on paper (2009- SC, 2008- Vandy). However, I think Ole Miss will have no problem getting to a bowl bc Nutt usually has them playing pretty consistent high level in the second half of the season

but I think we'll pull off an upset against Auburn, @Arkansas, or @LSU, and we'll beat either MSU at home or UT on the road, along with ULL. So I think we'll get to 7-5, with a possibility of 8-4 depending on how the injury bug treats us this year.

level with us and I honestly think we would go 5-0 with that schedule so why shouldn't I expect them to do the same.

Ole Miss will probably pull off the least impressive back to back 8-4 seasons in SEC history. Good thing Les Miles is an idiot or there would not be a single impressive win to show for it. Don't get me wrong, I would take it too but the scheduling gods have shown favor on Ole Miss the last two years. Beats the hell out of sitting home for the holidays.

Damn right. We needed scheduling gods the last two years. Hopefully we won't need them quite as much in the future.

The only thing that would make this year's schedule better for us would be if we could replace Fresno with Arkansas State, but I'm just getting greedy now. Our SEC slate shakes out a lot like your 1999 SEC slate, where we're likely to get the 3 worst teams in the East. That happens on occasion, and hopefully we can take advantage and win all 3 to at least make our season look better to help with recruiting for the future.

if they had OM's schedule this year. Fresno St. might be a hiccup if OM had to travel out there but I don't see Fresno coming across country and beating the Rebs in Oxford.

That was their best team in over 20 years, they beat a very very good Ole Miss team, and were 5-0 coming into Starkville.

Not to mention McShank bombed back to back < 15 yard punts on consecutive possessions.

still sucked. Their win over Mississippi was a fluke. I think UM dominated statistically but had something like 6 turnovers.

Pretty sure we return everyone on our line. The same line that handled your All-World d-line last year, and also lead the way for the best rushing attack in the SEC.

And you still have that bleeding ****** Sowell on your line, so that automatically makes us 10x better.

then there's a pretty damn big gap between those 2 positions. Seriously, there's no comparison between our OL and yours this year. Ours is solid. Yours is a big question mark.

Florida 2008, Texas Tech, 2008, Oklahoma State 2009, Arkansas 2009, Tennessee 2009. The last 2 may not be real impressive, but we beat the **** out of them and they were both bowl teams.

Neither Wyoming team was anything special. Absolute embarrassment both times and an added embarrassment that we played a home and home w/ them although I guess the scenery was nice.

I was referring to last year and potentially this year if it played out like Bruiser was saying. Sorry to bust your bubble but beating Arkansas and UT in Oxford last year was not impressive to anyone, especially by a team that was predicted to be in the top 10.

If that's what we go by.

Regardless, like I said, it doesn't really matter. If we can somehow go 8-4 this year and go to another solid bowl game, it'll look really good for us on the recruiting trail with recruits, and that's what we need right now. We're essentially trying to bridge the gap to get to when our sophomore class is a senior class. If we can have decent seasons in the meantime and continue to recruit well, it'll give us a foundation to continue to put solid, winning teams on the field year after year for a good little while.

That game should've been a double digit victory for us, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

In a way I say it was payback for our 2006 win over Vandy. We won that one 17-10, and Vandy had something like 5 turnovers. Rory Johnson singlehandedly won that game for us. If I could go back though, I'd gladly swap the 2006 win for the 2008 loss though.
