Well since most HCs have egos the size of Texas, I think it would go something like:

"Man these fans are so wishy washy. They'll dump you after a single loss. And they don't even cheer much when you are doing well....."

"Yeah, and don't get me started on the admin support. Wow?! Talk about inept...."

"My goodness, the facilities...."

"Yeah there's no way you can recruit well enough..."

Pretty much any excuse except for, "I had resources but I f$@ked it up."

Up until this past year, the first 3 have been true.

They'd say, "Let's look for the factor we all have in common."

"Oh yeah. The guy who hired us. I guess that's the reason: We weren't very good to start with."

Then Brooks would say, "well, in truth, I was just too old. But yeah, you guys weren't very good."

Can't believe it took that many posts before someone stated the obvious. Well done.

I'm betting every one of them would want to play the Florida game in October at night so our climate could possibly be a factor in our favor for a change.

But they don't stay the entire game. Regardless of score
That's it, that's why we lose because even though the fans buy tickets and tons of UK garb they leave early when we are either beating a patsy (getting harder to find) or getting humiliated by a decent football opponent. That is the reason.

How about this? Football for the fans is basically entertainment. Loyalty is one thing but basically it is entertainment. When the product is vastly overpriced and offers no enjoyment people leave early to do something else or just don't come. To be ranked in the top 60 programs in attendance would be an incredible accomplishment with the sorry state of our program over the years but to be in the top 30 is amazing since we probably haven't had a top 30 program but maybe 2-3 times in 25 years.

Brooks: We has some good seasons. Won more than we lost. Went to some bowl games and won a few. I averaged making a little over $100k/ win.

Joker: Pfft... I got to a bowl game too. Plus, they gave me $400k/ win. They even paid me $3M to leave. No one can top that.

Stoops: Haha. What a couple of chumps you guys are. I had two 5 win seaesons. Won a handful of SEC games. Didn't have to mess with the post season. Averaged about $1M/ win. I'll get $12M if they decide to can me.
