If Peyton Manning was our QB Saturday would we beat Bama?

No "lower leg" injury and as he is today at 37... if he hypothetically suited up in Maroon would that be enough to beat Bama this weekend?

Peyton would audible out of it. He would probably audible out of most play calls.

Do you really think zero chance tough?

Can Saban be our HC in this scenario?
I'd rather have Cam as our QB if we're hand picking players.

I'd suggest that Mullen's problem with a pocket passer is that he doesn't know how to have a running game without an option QB.

I pesonally think that with Russell, we run the ball too much and don't do enough passing to the backs. It should not be balanced. The lack of any type of big play WR has really held Russell back as well. I don't know how much of this is Russell making audibles; you can tell he is making at least some.

I think Peyton Manning does his own thing regardless of whos coaching him... even King Mullensk. I think he actually beats Bama if he is our QB come Saturday. Prolly scores on just about every possession actually. If we lost it would be 50 something to 50 something.

Considering that Manning is smart enough to take total control of the offense as well as gifted enough to make the throws we would certainly have a chance.

If you just plug him in for this week, then no. If he was with us till this point of the season, then we'd beat them. Manning has been in the nfl for forever now. Nothing saban threw at him would confuse him. Manning would slaughter the tide

I think the point of this thread is that our QB is not our problem. It never has been. Our problem is that we set up our QB's to fail. We run Russell. We let Dak throw it three straight times. It doesn't matter who we line up back there, our coaches have shown that they don't play to their players' strengths.

Just take the final 2-pt. conversion attempt for example. Russell, off the bench, throws a picture perfect out-and-up fade to Bear Wilson. Just a beautifully executed play. Then it's time to go for 2. The game is basically on the line. You need to get this so that you have a chance to tie it up if you can get the ball back. What do we do? We run a 17ing zone read with Russell & Perkins. How is that even in the top 100 plays that give us the best chance to score? Just a terrible call by a coach that has no clue what to do if he doesn't have a mack truck playing QB. It's everything that's wrong with Mullen in a nutshell.
